Mesh top for front row only?

Our front only sunshade prototype is for the 2 door. The 4 door front only we will work on but don’t have high hopes it will perform to our standards.
The sun rider version we have also worked on but it will be a while. As I said previously there are so many configurations we have to see what makes sense to work on.
Things can change and that’s why we make prototypes.

Ok hold on everyone! This is a reply referring to our Jeep Wrangler JL products. We are not making a product that works with the sun rider for the Jeep!

I’d be willing to pay for a prototype and be a tester to provide feedback. For a front only Bimini the rear anchor point can be the same spot the sun rider attaches to in the second row panel. I’d provide pictures but my bronco is currently at the dealership for an A pillar leak repair.

So any thoughts on my offer to be a test subject for a front row only Bimini mesh on a 4-door Bronco?

You should easily be able to secure the rear part of a Bimini to the rear part of the Sunrider top where it connects to the second removable panel. The rest can be secured how you’ve engineered the solution for the full Bimini mesh in the Bronco leaving the ability to still open and close the top.

I think they are typically referring to them as “bikinis” that only cover the front seats… I’ve searched everywhere for one. I want one that you don’t leave on with the hard top. I had a Spiderweb Shade for my Jeep which I might dig out of the basement and see how close it fits. I’m going to order one of those cheap full size biminis on Amazon while they are on the Prime Day sale for $40 and see if I can modify it to work…

So just bought and installed the Bestop mesh access bimini. It definitely works great. Had the Sunrider open the entire week and seats weren’t on fire and I had enough shade. Not flappy even when driving at over 70. Really nice addition. Some slight issues since it wasn’t designed to work with the Sunrider.

- the front magnet does not have perfect contact on the flat metal because it rests on the rounded bolt head.
- It needs two more magnets where the front hooks are to help keep the flap down and connnected to the metal surface.
- The middle roof panel latches, prevents the mesh top from remaining straight and taunt in only that spot around the latch but otherwise great.

I’m looking to add some magnets to keep the front flap down to cover the front gap the other bimini mesh tops have. I would recommend that if Bestop just provides the mesh access Bimini top that stops at the metal bracket of the access bimini with some additional rear support straps, that it would make this a perfect accessory with the Sunrider. Should be pretty easy of a modification but I’m not willing to cut the $270 new top in half right to make that mod myself.
