Lux package Dash USBs always hot or by ignition?

That's a cool idea as well! Was it difficult to wire it up? And where did you "hide" it, so to speak?

Turns out I guess I never took pictures after finishing the install. But 4k front facing camera is behind the rearview mirror (to the left of the oem black plastic lane keeping/departure camera housing on the windshield) & rear facing IR camera is mounted above the rearview mirror (mounted on the black plastic lane keeping/departure housing).

Depends what you consider difficult. I enjoy tearing things apart and see how everything functions, assembled or wired up. It can be overwhelming for some Im sure since your Bronco ends up looking like this in order to get to the wiring.

Haven't got my Bronco yet, however, I have a dash cam that I want to use that I really want to come on and go off when I turn on/off the ignition. I definitely want to use the Dash USBs under the windshield, but I'm not sure if they are always hot or not? If they are always hot, can they somehow be wired to only be hot with the ignition? Just don't want to be constantly remembering to unplug the cam from the USB port.

So, this is what I learned today on a 2022 Wildtrak. I bought a 5v to 12v usb plug for a uniden radar detector.
I plugged it in the dash usb, it had no power.

turned on the vehicle, radar started up. Turned off the vehicle, stayed on for 35 min.

Thought it stays hot, due to the 35 min of it staying on. I didn’t like that and I unplugged it. Then I think the vehicle gives you more time before the usb shuts off if something is plugged in.

I came to this conclusion because I unplugged it, locked it and came back in 20 min. Unlocked it, plugged it in, nothing until I started it. So why is the radar on 35 min later when vehicle was off but no power when I plugged it in 20 min after the vehicle was off on test two.

then after starting it again and shutting off the vehicle, I retested it at 35 min. It was on. Then came back at 1 hour 5 min, it was finally off.
So either:

1) the usb power on the dash turns off after an hour of the vehicle lock

2) it might be able to determine different shut off times based if something was being charged

3) the converter in the usb plug is making it act weird

love to hear more from others.

Badlands Lux.
With the "key" off, there is no power on the dash USB Port.
I cycled the "key" to accessory which turned the USB Port on.
Turning the "key" off again did not shut the power down to that USB Port.
I opened the door to shut everything off and even locked the door with the fob and the power was still at the Dash USB Port. Not sure how long it will stay on. I'll go out again and check in a little while.

Edit: 20 minutes later, dash USB still powered up.

Hello, I have a question, how do you cycle the key to accessory? I have the Outer banks lux but the dash Port is only hot with the ignition on... I need it powered on all the time.

You can order a dongal for power that plugs into the rear view mirror power. Power will only be by ignition.

I opened the DeltaNu….. power point timeout calculator link and got this

It doesn’t allow any inputs and I don’t understand how to use this link to convert to hex to insert into the last 2-digits to leave the power points hot for a long time (forever?) Has anyone figured this out?

Times out after exactly 1hr15min for me. I have a dash mount MagSafe charger that stays illuminated. Watched the time stamp on my nest cam on two separate days to confirm the time.

2. It might be possible to use Forscan to lower that timeout, but no details there or any other known impacts to Bronco from making that change.

If you do wire your device through the rearview mirror, it will cut the power to the vehicle when you turn it on/off
