Most bike hitches that work with this swing gate are pretty pricey. The first one I got, tilted down, but not enough to allow the swing gate to open at all, and my style bike needed a extra adapter to install it, which already marked up my bike on first install. This one actually works completely. I just can’t attested for it’s longevity on long trips.

For my current purposes: I didn’t install the 2nd rack. I may drill a new hole in the hitch mount to get closer to my Bronco, as it does stick out a bit. I may wait to do that, as it may cause issues with a 2nd bike set up, but the old hole will always be there.

Items purchased $157 total:

Nice, if it works it works. I like your Marin. I've got a Marin Bobcat Trail. I was also on the fence about dropping big money on name brand carrier and then possibly more on a Kuat swing arm. So this bike carrier doesn't tilt or anything with the bike on it, correct?

Right, it doesn’t tilt. But once you lift the bike off, you just swing the arm down and open the back. Super easy. But for the fancy ones that swing or tilt with the bike, $400-700 at least. This is a two bike rake for $130.

After I returned the first bike hitch, just loaded my bike in the back with the front wheel off. Sort of a pain and I can see myself damaging my bike.

Hey how did this setup treat you this year? Did you end up making any adjustments to improve the fit? Did you try with two bikes? If this can last me 3 or 4 seasons that's all I'd need to ask out of it.
