Key fob not working

Last 2 days my key fob has been spotty. Sometimes it unlocks or locks the car and I am getting messages in the dash that no key fob is present. (Helpful) Thoughts?

I never got a message but my key fob didn't work, then used my spare fob and now the primary fob is working again. I haven't had this happen again since then.

I had this happen once. Freaked me out for a min given my location at that time. I figured I’d change the fob battery to lithium.

My key fob just started doing this last week. At first I noticed that the door would not unlock when I grabbed the drivers side door handle. Then 2 days later I got the (key is not present while driving).

I immediately went to a local batteries & bulbs store and replaced the battery. It works fine now the battery has been replaced.

A bit surprised the battery didn’t last longer. Bronco was delivered in early May.

A bit surprised the battery didn’t last longer. Bronco was delivered in early May.

Never know what your fob may be doing in your pocket - Maybe you had accidentally been pushing buttons on it or something over time, which would wear out the battery sooner. Or maybe it was just a crappy battery.

I am using the other key that came with the car and it works so it is definitely the first fob. How long are batteries expected to last? I am assuming that is the issue.
