Well, at least we agree on something. :) Lol.
Maybe next year all the Clemson and Carolina Bronco owners can get together before the game next year that is if there is one. I used to be in the Marine Corps Reserve Unit at the Donaldson Center back in the 90's.

Once we all get our vaccines and back to normal life, Ford will be stamping these out like battle droids in the Star Wars prequels. The delay serves my needs right now - time to let them get their act together. I have an October time stamp so it’s not like I was going to be first in line anyway. I’m hoping that by the time mine gets built the workers on the line have mastered every twist and turn, and any defects in the process have been discovered and remedied. Until then, I wish them all good health and a quick vaccine delivery.

Yes. Does model year = calendar year?
Not always, but in Bronco’s case, probably. Ford has said that some that have a reservation prior to 18 Sept (MY2021) will probably not get the MY2021 model but that their place will be maintained for a MY2022 (but will have to work with dealer for new MY2022 order price changes).“The new model year typically begins in August to September of the preceding calendar year. This was partly due to the advertising of a new model being coordinated with the launch of the new television season in late September, because of the heavy dependence between television to offer products from automakers to advertise, and the car companies to launch their new models at a high-profile time of year.[1] Imported cars use the model year convention in the U.S. and Canada, even when this system is not used for the same cars when sold in other countries.”

Are you the kind of person that takes satisfaction in proving people wrong? Because that’s what’s this sounds like. Beyond that, I’m really not sure what your point is. Look, I have no idea when my ‘22 Bronco will be ready. Nobody does. I wasn’t stating a fact. It was a hopeful wish. Having a job that guarantees time off during that week makes it a convenient time for me to travel to Iowa.

I thought Sept 18 was the cutoff for MY2021 models. Wouldn’t Oct 1 put you in the MY2022 cycle?

The September 18 cutoff is related to the dealer allocation model, not the model year cutoff. Ford has not stated when the model year will change, because they simply don't know. Once reservations are converted to orders, they will have the information needed to determine the cutoff. Of course, it is unlikely we will find out until much later.

The cutoff was determined by an algorithm that calculates reservations to orders ratio and average builds per work week. Also, one person may be slotted to receive a MY22 who has an earlier timestamp based on late availability items as well. Once all the orders are converted and Ford has an idea of how many Bronco will be able to be built based on available items will determine delivery window / model year... hope this make sense.

Ford's using GMT for reservation timestamps for some reason. So for all of us who ordered on the 13th, it's listed as the 14th.
Ford is using GMT for order reservation timestamps to simplify the process. Things can get quite challenging determining a 10:29pm EDT is before a 9:22pm PDT.

Yeah but why not use EST?
Because GMT doesn't change with daylight saving time and is easily coded in data systems.

Any respectable operation that spans timezones work on GMT (more accurately known as UTC or "Zulu Time").

It's the global standard that all atomic clocks are based off of, and all local times are calculated off of.
