Just purchased this to install my front license plate on https://a.co/d/bxlaUmG

following the instructions went smoothly on the drivers side however I’m having a big issue on the passenger side. I have removed the factory screw from behind the bumper fascia but I cannot get the new (or original screw) to thread back through as seen in this install step.

I’ve tried a number of times to orient the screw to find the threads but can’t seem to do so.
the drivers side threaded through and tightened up no problem.
im not sure something is not aligned or blocking the threads. I am able to get the screw in through the metal bumper backing but it won’t thread into anything

debating running this bracket with only one side attached for now. Any suggestions? It’s like 33 degrees today in chicago and I don’t want to tear apart this bumper for a license plate frame.

Perhaps loosen the drivers side to give the passenger side some more room/clearance so you can get the bolt lined up correctly. Once they are both finger tight then you can crank ‘em down! Good luck!

Really good idea. But doesn’t seem to be working out.

losing light and feeling in my fingers. Had to ghetto rig it for now with a zip tie. Spent way too much time on this.

I have a similar bracket. I can’t even get the bolts off! What size tool did you use? Thanks!

Thank you! Home Depot here I come!
There are ones that have an adjustable angle too. Those might be helpful. But I used the stubby because it gets more articulation in the tight space.

The bolts are set with some kind of goop, same function as loctite, they take some ugga dugga to get started. While it *can* be done with the little tool in the kit, a good shorty wrench is golden.
