Appreciate you commenting! It is really helping ease my mind a bit that others might have the same issue. Obviously the preference is there being no issue, but at least I am not getting any comments like "oh yeah, mine was doing that right before it split in half on the highway like that scene in one of the Herbie the Love Bug movies"

Thanks to KABQ's wording, I googled and actually got a result right back on this forum that seems to be the same situation that I am having: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...thud-clunk-after-releasing-brake.95839/page-3

The more feedback I get, the more it sounds like a known issue that I was blissfully unaware of until recently.

Ah ok now I follow after reading that thread you posted. I get that too and I'm at 13k on the clock now with mine. I knew exactly what it was though the first time it happened, as an old 4Runner would do the same thing (2005). It had zerks on it though that you could easily hook up a grease gun to every-so-often. It would take nearly a tube of grease every time I did it. I had that car for about 100k miles (bought used at 50k miles). I did it probably 3 times total. Would instantly stop the thumping each time. After around the 100k mark, it just stopped and never returned.

I posted on that other thread to one of the commentators suggesting have a zerk put in. Not sure if that would work and not throw off the balancing of the driveshaft. If it could work, I would have it done on mine in a NY minute.

Lug nuts? Any time someone touches the weels other than me, I re-torque mine. I had a friend at work who had his tires rotated by the dealer, a month later his wheel fell off on the freeway and rolled a mile down the road (no injuries or accidents thank goodness).

Tell me about it….
Mr. Tire forgot Mr. Lug Nut… 2017.
Needless to say, he was fired on the spot. Quality test drive check after a rotation/balance didn’t go so well for ole’ Cliff.
