Bump. I've been chasing a very loud buzz/rattle that sounds like it's coming from the right rear cargo area, but haven't found it yet. Here's what it isn't:
  • Black plastic trim pieces on the tailgate covering wiring access. Removed them one at a time to test.
  • Seatbelts. Taped them down to eliminate any contact with the plastic interior.
  • The little white plastic oil can funnel next to the jack. Removed it completely to test.
  • Jack is secure.
  • Speaker pod trim is tight and secure.
  • Windows in the hard top are secure.
  • Hard top bolts are secure.
That leaves the plastic trim under the rear roll bar, which gives a very clicky plasticy sound when I tap it with my fingers. Seems like that's probably the culprit, but looking here for any additional info. Yes, I could take it to the dealer. If it's just a 10 minute fix, I'd rather handle it myself.

Possible - I recall one other person having a rattle from the trim up by the light

Tape it up or wedge a match book or something in the seam and see if that resolves it

Thanks, that turned out to be the source. The plastic trim on the inside of the rear window that covers the rear wiper motor does not fit tightly enough. Taping the seam stopped the rattle.
