I did a trial run with those on my 21 Defender, they shift way to much, gave up on them after a few days.

Oh good feedback. Did you use loctite at all or just as-is they were shifting?

Why clean it? Mud is the original "ceramic" coat. My old 2 door 4Runner was in the mud so much, I cleaned it up right before I sold it. My neighbor said "I didn't know it was red!"

You are going to be finding mud in places mud not supposed to go for months after this! However, it sure looks like a good time getting it dirty!
