OJ was a pretty good rock crawler at night, just not in a Bronco.

@BenB007

1) While I didn't (and still don't) like the white door handles, tops, and all that, I feel for those that did. Many here really liked the Cyber Orange baseball leather interior and that isn't an option either. These were clearly custom builds that we never meant as production examples but Ford went forward with them as showpieces to sell the Bronco. That is misleading but I will say that this realization happened so long ago that I quite honestly forgot these existed. Build and Price (even as broken as it was) was something like 8 months ago now. Those Broncos do not exist in production and won't exist until a King Ranch or Limited trim level Bronco exists. Given the marketing since then, I don't see that being the case for a while.

2) I don't know about predatory, but I do agree with the timestamp elitist mentality that is so pervasive right now. The amount of people that hold a grudge for a couple hours of trying to place a reservation 11.5 months ago is ridiculous. I've also never seen so much chest-pounding about a "vehicles intended use" or the ability to drive a manual. Not a good look for the community.
I know it’s been known that these weren’t going to exists for a long time. My point was simply to say that the feature set has become more narrow by the day (i.e commodity restraints, Mod tops, etc.). To your point regarding the timestamp elitist, I’m not sure if Ford created this or if they latched on to it. But, I’ve been saying on this forum for months that the reservation timestamp wouldn’t hold up against other criteria. Now Ford is alluding to that very fact. Yet, to your point, I think there have been several replies to this very thread from people challenging me to a reservation timestamp duel. Perhaps predatory was the wrong wording.

3) Disagree with "good enough" mentality. The clearly targeted the competition. The white grille, handles, top with white leather interior ran counter to all subsequent marketing. This was never going to be a Lincoln or some other luxury vehicle. They shouldn't have marketed those concepts as production. See point 1.
Sorry, wasn’t clear here. I knew the concept wasn’t what I was getting when I ordered back in February. I just get the feeling they are barely meeting the minimum on certain things. Personally, I think their hesitation on adding the prep kit is a prime example. Having only sat in two Bronco’s, they didn’t really stand out as something that was built with the amount of pride as I would have expected.

4) Ford is doing the opposite of every other vehicle manufacturer out there in terms of trims and target audience. Tesla, GM, Rivian are all rolling out their top trims which have little interest to me. Not that I would be interested in an $80k base Hummer, but they are clearly targeting the wealthy that can blow $100k+ on a launch edition Hummer or a $70k+ midsize truck. Ford is targeting the average new car consumer. Maverick $20k, Bronco $30k, Lightning Pro $40k. They are going for volume over bespoke. MIC top vs Modular makes sense then.
In many aspects, I respect what they are doing. But I think I just saw a post regarding a Bronco going for $90K at a dealership. Not sure where to go with that.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. All great, well though out points.

Sorry, actually Ford is filling them in with dealer stock.
Yeah, every cancelled order goes on the lot for some walk-in to buy. Cancelling orders doesn’t help us at all. In fact, every one is another nail in the reservation coffin.

Not all cancelled orders will hit the lot with ADM for the dealer, but probably most. Some dealers are different…

We realize inevitably some deals will fall through but we are not knowingly going to go through with an order without an end user who had committed to the Bronco. We have enough demand that will certainly outstrip our allocation that we want to get ours to our customers asap. If someone backs out we'll cancel the order and move onto the next reservation. 👍

Anyone else surprised he didn’t mention the lack of cup holders.
I kept reading waiting for it to make the list.
I’m very disappointed, the OP’s rant list is incomplete.
Oh well, enjoy your RAV4.

It will be interesting to see how the whole Granger process unfolds. Are they also going to refuse soft top builds that Ford is building now for dealer lots? Do those come out of their dealer allocations? Will that push everyone in the queue back? My understanding is they already had more orders than expected allocations for both this year and next. I think most dealers have way more orders than allocations, but Granger has taken that to an extreme.

Feel free to ask the man himself. Or you can see what he said about the topic earlier today…

The clean up weeks are for this scenario. Dealer A has 10 Bronco orders in and is scheduling 2 Non FEs this week. All Non FE orders that they have are Wildtrak 2 Doors. Ford has a constraint on sasquatch for this production week. They don't get any orders scheduled in week 2. Then Week 3 comes around Dealer A calls his customers tells them of the situation and sees if any takers want to switch to a Non Sasquatch order. If he gets no takers, they then move to the next week again and clean up in week 4. That is an overly simplified scenario. but gives you an idea of what should happen. every single option, trim, etc could be constrained in some capacity or another so Ford is constantly searching to find a "buildable" order.

In our case, we have 1000+ converted orders and with so many possible combinations Ford can easily find a "buildable order in week 2 of Non-FE orders for the 20-30 orders they are scheduling so there isn't a lot of drama for us.

I still don’t understand how people like white exterior options like the roof and mirrors. I think it’s ugly. 🤷‍♂️
Nostalgia.

And yeah, it doesn't look good.
