LOL, the point was that you can no longer trust dictionaries to be accurate. However, if we're going to trust MW's definition as a fact, does that mean if I shift a DCT by manipulating a lever or paddle, it is no longer an automatic?

This is a car forum, to equate the term auto to a DCT is silly. I would wager that most people here think of a slushbox when they hear the term automatic transmission.
