Got a jeep high jack mount and added to the Hooke Road reinforcement plate.
1. Grind away any and all paint in the desired weld locations of both plates.
2. Secure with at least one bolt as a safety back up
3. Weld like there is no tomorrow.
Fyi I used a takeout aluminum baking container to prevent paint damage.
The results are better then I imagined and is on tight. But nothing like a bumpy jostling ride to ensure permanent mount.
And I know my welds could be better but what the heck….
PS looks like recessed tail lights are in order!!! When tailgate fully open I get an interference with the tail light. I have a rubber grommet for now not an issue since I dont open that far even at Costco. But then again not driving daily with it mounted….
So far so good.
