Is the LSD optional from the factory?
Unknown on the LSD. I'm hopeful as I think it would be much more useful for my use.

I'm learning a lot from this thread, in addition to some of my own research. I was going to get a rear locker for the BB or get the BD. I think I may now just stick to the BB and get no rear locker.

I've been back and forth so much, LOL.

I still have no idea what I'm going to do either. Two top choices are still (all 4 door): Base + 2.7 + Sasquatch or BB + Auto + 4.27 E-Locker (mainly for gearing to keep the 2.3). Though a BD + Auto is of similar price. Now even the OB + 4.27 E-Locker is creeping in as it is only about 2K more and gives me the mid package and auto as standard.

Okay...first off, I will completely admit that I'm one of those that will rarely use their vehicle off road let alone anywhere near the vehicles ability in its Base form. I also admit that I love the look of the Sasquatch package, but realize that it'll purchased for the look and not the ability. It's going to be 98% street and 2% dirt (think dirt roads and crappy campground access roads and sites). Maybe even some sand? We get snow and slush and ice part of the year so 4WD is nice for that.

The big question.....how good/bad would lockers be on the STREET for snow/slush and just general extra traction? I'll drive it more like a rally vehicle than as a rock or mud buggy. Then that would also morph into tire/wheel combo that would look proportional but be better for faster street type driving.

My initial though is to go with aftermarket LSD front(?) and rear diffs and no bigger than 31x10.5's. Most likely on 17s for the lower profile sidewall.

What is everyone's thoughts?
NEVER use lockers on the street!

Turning the vehicle causes the outside wheel to go a lot faster than the inside wheel. If the locker is engaged, the wheels are locked together and forced to rotate at the same speed. This creates two possible scenarios 1) The vehicle violently jerks around as the outside wheel lurches forward after it breaks the friction caused by the wheel turning too slowly. This is an unmistakable bad feeling I have experienced more than once. 2) The axel or some other part of your vehicle breaks to relieve the stress you put on it. My friend broke a front axel on a Def 90 this way.

I think of lockers as something I'll use when I get myself into a bad situation or I'm stuck. I wouldn't cruise with them engaged unless it was very slippery or extreme conditions, not on asphalt.

Solo Stove Bonfire...it's fantastic. If crappy weather is coming I just pick it up and put it in the garage! To clean pickup, turn upside down over trash can and shake!
What's heat range on that thing? Im so tempted. I heard some people the heat goes just up and not so much out yet it has a ton of reviews. if I'm sitting like 3ft away, will I feel it?

I have the solo bonfire as well. Never thought Id spend that much on a fire ring but its well worth. Fire burns amazing and it does put off some good that but you do have to sit within 3-4 feet. Only problem I have is areas I camp during summer most have fire bans in place so I have to take the propane ring instead. I even use our solo at home on the deck.

Anyone know? Doesn’t Slippery or Mud/Ruts G.O.A.T. Mode fix some of the spinning?
Not 100% sure on the ford setup yet but for example, in my wife's grand Cherokee say on "snow" setting, it removes first gear and you start out from stops in 2nd gear.

As 2Jeeps&PatriotX1 says, the heat goes straight up and you need to sit pretty darn close to it. No more burnt shins like at a campfire. Other thing is 14" or shorter logs seem to work the best. Once it starts going wet wood isn't much of a problem either. Make sure your starting fuel is dry so it can really start moving the air.

Yeah now if LSD were the choices I stead of lockers, I'd be interested in those. But I haven't seen anything that suggest that.

So Rear Locker is not standard on most trims? I have never NOT considered Sasquatch so never bothered looking into what came standard for that.

How is this advantageous? I am in the same boat. I don't think I need front lockers, so I am going with the black diamond. However, if 4a is not too much compared to the advantages it offers, I will consider it.
4A gives you that sort of All wheel Drive mode that is safe to use regardless of the surface conditions.

rear locker only standard in Black Diamond, Badlands, Wildtrak and FE.

Been watching some videos on the advantages lockers have. While I’m not sure how much I’ll ever “need” lockers, I’m like how that they limit the damage you do to a trail that your vehicle may be struggling a bit in.

anyone have experience with deep sand/ beach driving and lockers? I would do more of that than any trails and def no rock crawling. Im thinking I could get a Base and go aftermarket in the future if I ever feel it’s necessary. I see ARB lockers for the Ranger are about $1000

Get the sasquatch package. Sounds like you'll never use it, but its a great value at 5k. Plus the Bronco will look awesome!!!!

Everyone made some really good points though.
hmm, spending extra 5k on features I won't use, doesn't sound like much of a value. Too bad Ford doesn't offer a version with 35" tires, for owners who are into that sort of look, without all the capability and features some owners will never use.
