Just ordered my 2022 Ford Bronco, and I happen to be a Ford salesperson who is in charge of my dealer's new inventory ordering so I will be constantly checking the status of my production

I was able to attend the Off Roadeo dealer preview and fell in love with the Bronco after seeing what it's capable of from the factory. I've had my build decided for many months but changed from Oxford White to Cyber Orange now that they made it available for the Base model.

Kept it pretty simple, Base 4-door Sasquatch 2.7L, modular bumper, keypad, and aux switches in the BEAUTIFUL Cyber Orange. Glad to become a part of this community after several months lurking, and feel free to contact me with any questions on production/commodity restraint rumors. Ford doesn't always keep us in the loop, but I'm more than happy to try and find an answer for anyone waiting for their Bronco.

Welcome, and glad to have you!

I have a general question. I have never ordered a vehicle before now. When any vehicle is delivered does the service department give it a once over, or not so much?

I was just wondering since there have been some issues posted with loose hoses, etc. I know how to get gas, check the oil, and change a tire, so even with the list @Cat made, I probably still won't know what I'm looking for when picking mine up. Thanks!

Here is the list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bCKnGypjpN2g2Qz8UtEC1-eqGUeqm5g9fj0tdrady3E/edit

The check in process can vary by dealer, but Ford provides a pre delivery inspection checklist that is completed by our service department before we can sell the vehicle (we don't allow test drives until it's completed either just in case).

When we get a new vehicle the sales department inspects it for factory/transport damage or defects before signing off on it. Once we check it in the vehicle and PDI checklist goes to service so it can be completed, retail units are moved ahead of stock so they are done ASAP. I don't know the entire list myself, but the vehicle is first brought onto a lift for a complete inspection to make sure everything was properly installed at the factory and nothing is missing. During the inspection if anything is found that needs to be repaired or replaced we are made aware so we can update the customer and let them know if there will be any further delays, otherwise if everything checks out and the road test goes well we then fill up the tank and call our customer to schedule a good time for pick up.

Even with this inspection things can still get missed, but it's pretty rare if it's done properly and usually ends up being something electrical that wouldn't be easily found. For example we had a hybrid F150 that a tech spent hours trying to diagnose as the codes kept pointing to an alternator issue even though the alternator was working properly and not damaged. Turned out there was a small leak in a wiring harness seal that was causing a no start on the truck when enough mositure would get through so we had to tear apart the entire front end just to replace some wiring and the truck has been running fine ever since.

My advice would be to not worry too much about checking mechanical components that will be covered by warranty if something comes up, but make sure to check over any cosmetics because once you take it off the lot it will be very difficult to get any scratches/chips/rips/dents etc. covered by the dealer. The Broncos we've received so far have been clean since they are coming direct from the factory, but if Ford starts putting them on rail cars or through multiple transport systems there's a much larger chance of damage occuring.

I've shared enough frustration with customers ordering vehicles for the last 2 years that I've learned to just laugh it off at this point. I still think it's rediculous but at the end of the day it's out of our control, all we can do is wait and hope things get better in the near future.

I have a questions about the mannequins that Ford gave each dealership. I took delivery of one and got a okay deal on it while I wait for my order to show up.
As I was going through the glovebox after I got home with it. I noticed extra parts from the Yakima rack that I assume was on it paperwork and instructions for the Rack. The owner of the Dealership used the the Bronco for the 6mos and then when they sold it to me the had the new hardtop put on its a 2dr. I’m assuming he kept the Mannequins Yakima top for his own Bronco. The salesman said once his Bronco came in he parked the Mannequin and drove his. Is there anything I can do to get that Yakima rack? Does Ford except the dealers to sell the Mannequin's with the extras? Again I'm assuming and can't prove it however its pretty obvious the Bronco I bought had the Yakima top rack. Just wondering what Ford has told the dealers to do. Thanks for any insight. Welcome and as I'm sure you know its totally worth the wait.

It depends on the mannequin unit, like most dealers we got 2 and only one was required to have an upfit package added onto it. Our first unit was a 2 door OBX and has the yakima rack, recovery boards, console safe, mesh top, and the Warn winch. We installed all of the accessories except for the winch, but everything is billed to the vehicle and shown on an addendum by the window sticker so customers can see the full price breakdown. Our second unit wasn't required to have anything added so we could do whatever we want with it.

I would recommend looking over your purchase contract to see if you were charged for the accessories, and if you were contact your dealer to make sure you get them. I don't see why a dealer would bother uninstalling them after they're already on a vehicle, but in the end if they weren't on it when you took delivery and you weren't charged for them you probably won't be able to get them now

Thanks for the quick response . I only have and saw the Window sticker which doesn't show any add ons however it did come with the console safe. Its not a big deal just more curious of the policy and I paid over MSRP but there was no reason for it other than good old supply and demand on these Broncos the sales contract was MSRP plus 5k so I guess my console safe is worth 5k LOL. Thanks again!

Welcome fellow Wisconsin-ite. My Badlands is currently on a train. 13 days later and it just can't make it to Granger Ford.

Vehicle transportation has been brutal this past month. I have a Bronco that's been produced since 12/14 and hasn't moved, and that customer just happens to work at the assembly plant but still can't get an answer as to why it hasn't been released. Another has an F250 that was taken off the rail in Chicago 2 weeks ago but no transport trucks available to get it to us, and he needed this truck about 2 1/2 months ago. It's a wonderful time to be the middle man
