Hello, I’m adding a switch panel and the backlighting is adjustable, I’d love to use the factory dash dimmer but I’m not sure which wire to tap.
I’ve dug around a bit but haven’t had any good hits. Here’s the plug from the back of my headlight switch for reference.

That switch panel connects to the BCM (Body Control Module) over a LIN circuit. All of the functions on that panel is handled by a single wire—that gray cable. It is a digital communication protocol, so if you are expecting to be able to tap into one of the wires specifically for backlighting, it's not going to happen.

What you'd have to do is program an Arduino or Raspberry Pi microprocessor to communicate on that LIN circuit, and make the appropriate changes on your switch panel.
