Headlight Replacement Broken Tab

I had a (believe to be) rock fly up and shatter my driver side headlight. It’s a signature OEM headlight. I’m trying to find a solution that’s not $500+, and even though the aftermarket lights look awesome I think it may be in my best interest to buy a used light on eBay or something. I’ve noticed several headlight for sale have the description “working light used and has broken tab” and may look like the attached pic. How does this affect the light and mounting? Should I largely avoid these replacement parts? Thanks in advance for advice.

Which tab is broken? The headlight has 3 bolts, and 1 plastic push pin.

The tab on the bottom would be necessary, and you may be able to get away with 1 broken tab up top. But I'd think you'd still want to use an angle or something to replace the tab on top (if that's what's broken).

If it were me, I'd say better to just find 1 that doesn't have a broken tab, or go aftermarket.

Appreciate the insight. There’s a bunch for sale on eBay so I’m sure I could find one with only one top tab broken but like you said may be the safer option to go aftermarket. It just makes my stomach drop seeing the prices lol.

I hear you on that, but having a broken tab without rigging it up somehow will most likely result in the headlight wobbling a bit.

I just got my kid the Rough Country headlights for his Bronco. He likes the look of them. Only been installed a couple days so can't say much more then that. He hasn't driven at night yet, but expect them to be brighter than stock. And for $499, with a 3 year warranty, that's not that bad at all. When I got my Morimoto headlights back when they released them, I think I got $600 for my trade in so back then they ran me $600. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.
