Hardtop question

Are you able to remove just yhat back part of the hardtop on a 2 door , leaving the front 2 panels on ? You would still have it secured in 3 out of the 4 points on each side.

I would say no... Get a Bimini top, they're cheap.

There was another recent thread on this issue regarding the 4-door, and I think the consensus was that it will work. In fact, there is a photo from Ford showing that exact setup on a 2 door, albeit on the dirt and not at highway speeds. Even at highway speeds I don't think it's going anywhere given the attachment points.

Check one of the 2Dr threads. There was a member that posted a picture of theirs with just the front panels in place. I’ll try to find it and update my post, if I can.

I thinking an aftermarket company could make a rear support for the front panels that bolts on using the existing threaded holes that the rear clamshell bolts to. Giving the front panels the extra support that the rear clamshell provides.
