Hi all. Recently put on the hardtop for the first time and the front clips don’t shut all the way (upward). Did I install wrong?

All the clips are super tight and hard to close but they all successfully close except the front two (same on both sides). Thoughts ??

Push up harder. If the hooks line up with the holes on the upper brack you are good. They will snap when you push them up.

Did you put the driver side and passenger side front panels on in the correct order? That seems to be a step with Jeep freedom panels and our Broncos that people make mistakes with from what I’ve found.

I just put my top on Sunday and had this problem. Where the hook goes in there are two bolts that allows the plate to be adjusted. Loosen and pull the plate back as far as it can go then retighten. Mine worked by doing this.

If they've ever been clipped, it is most likely an alignment issue - remove, and reseat and so forth - tighten others first and then latch last - if it still doesn't work it could be too tight - there is a screw adjustment I think. But, again, if it worked once it should work again.

Removal: Driver than Passenger
Install: Passenger than Driver

All thanks for the replies! First time putting on and it was correct order and everything but literally required someone to push down on roof hard while i pushed crazy hard and it shut. Is that normal for a first time?? It’s on and doubtful any possibility of a leak with how hard that was but wow not very convenient. Appreciate all the resp

No that is not normal. I take mine off and put them on myself in just a few minutes.

If this happened to me I would take them off again. When putting them on make sure they line up correctly then close that latch first. If it still takes a lot of pressure from outside pushing down, then I would head to the dealer and have them look at it. If not convenient to head to the dealer then I would look at the adjustments stated above.

It takes a hard push to get them to latch, but it should be doable with one hand.

Yes. As per the manual, passenger side goes back on first and then the driver side front panel.
