I have 4dr with Hardtop. I took top off last summer, reinstalled in late October. My issue is the top makes squeaking noises. I have rechecked to ensure all screws in and handles firmly in place... ANY ideas?

Everyone has their own choice of fix. What I did to get rid of all my squeaks and pops was use some graphite lubricant meant for convertibles and put a tad bit on all the foam seals. I had to do it twice about 60 days apart before it finally fixed the problem, but that was last year and I’ve been squeak/pop free since.

Edit: Silicone, not graphite. Silicone lubricant.

What a great idea - I use that for my 2015 VW Convertible Beetle when her top gets cranky, and will remember your trick with it if and when my Bronco’s top also makes noises after I take it off and put it back on for the first time this spring! Thank you!😊

It’s handled a full year of Arizona sun, dust and tons of trails without the squeaks coming back so I consider it a pretty solid solution.
Takes less than 10 minutes so not a big deal if I have to do it again someday!

Hi, were most of your squeaks and rattles coming from the back shell or the roof panels? Just curious as mine has now started to make noise after a couple bumpy trail runs. PS, I’m in Arizona too!

For me it was popping and squeaking coming from the gaskets between all of the panels and where it seals against the Bronco. I have a 4 door, so that's the the 3 removable panels basically.

Basically, I just put a bit of that Silicone lube on the gaskets and rubbed it in really well to remove any residue. That's all it's ever needed for a quiet ride.

Thank you. I’m going to try that. It makes sense that it worked, because I remember all those gaskets/seals being somewhat oily when brand new, and it didn’t squeak then.

@Theherofails so my creaking is coming from my rear shell (not the removable panels). I had all my removable panels off during the recent nice AZ weather, and just kept the rear shell on and it was still creaking. I liked up the gaskets where the flip up rear glass meets the tailgate and glass surround, but that didn’t do it. My guess is the creaks are actually coming from where the rear shell actually meets the bed rails/painted body. Did you have any creaking going on there? My next step is going to lift the rear shell off and oil up the bed rails where they meet up with the shell. Any thoughts? Thank you.

After a couple trail runs my hard top has started making a lot of creaking noises as well. Seems to me worse in the mornings when its cooler - once that Arizona temp gets up there seem to be not as noticeable. I may try this 3M Rubber conditioner when I take the top off for the "fall" season.
