What if they were distracted by something else, like their touchscreen, or their cup of coffee, or a baby in the back seat? Shouldn't the same apply?

Too hard to prove. Most states already have laws on the books concerning phone use while driving. There needs to be consequences for those under 18 that cause accidents due to distracted/texting while driving. If the penalty doesn't hurt or cause some major interruption to the behavior, the behavior probably won't change.

This a tough one for me. I'm OCD and don't buy new stuff often. I saved up and paid cash for this and IDK if I can "just leave it", ya know. Maybe I can, we'll see.

I'm Bronco dumb and dumb in general, so not sure what my mod bumper is, and also not sure if you're being serious lol.

If I do get it replaced, then yes, would like to get a couple of bucks off the "slightly used" bumper shown in the pics above.

Well, at least it looks like you came out ahead in the accident, she's the one going to have to explain the damage to her parents. She might have done you a favor though, isn't the WT rear bumper plastic? Barring any deeper damage use the insurance money to upgrade to a steel bumper of your choosing! Glad all were safe!

i'm an advocate that all new drivers should be required to have the drivers position FORWARD of the front bumper for their first year.

it'll increase their situational awareness (in a potentially painful way)
