My front camera took a hit and didn't survive. A ford replacement camera is about $260. Is there a cheaper off the shelf camera that will work as a plug and play replacement? I don't really care what shape or size it is as I'm sure I can make a winch bracket mount for whatever work.

I just checked prices and OH BOY!! I can't believe they charge that much for the camera. Sorry I have no advice for you as far as an alternate.
I do have a question though. Did you relocate your camera from the grill to in front of your winch? Is that why the camera took a hit? If so, I'll be leaving mine in the grill.

Relocating it in front of the winch does make it more vulnerable but damage happens when offroading and this was just bad luck.

Was the $260 just for the camera or did that include labor? When I had an f250 I replaced the camera and it was in the $300s so this is easier to stomach. I’ll eventually need to replace mine since it’s got a scratch on the plastic cover right in the middle of the field of view.

I can't name one specifically, but our camera uses a common Fakra Z cable connector so I'd gamble on a cheap one off amazon with matching connector. At least with Amazon you can always return it easily if it doesn't work. Or you can get a Fakra Z to RCA adapter and plug in any cheap back up camera and maybe it will work.

That was the plan but unfortunately I can't seem to find a fakra z backup cam. Most cameras also have separate power and ground circuits which isnt the end of the world but adds to the screwing around just to see if it works.
