Several people have recovered their stolen Broncos here via the Ford Pass App, and a few others have been able to track their Dirt Mountain experience. Very handy…lock and unlock remotely.

My question is, how do the dealers work on these vehicles when they can be started remotely via the App? During maintenance, this feature would have to be locked-out or rendered inoperative. Is this accomplished by disabling the modem? Maintenance mode?

Why would you start your Bronco remotely when it's at the dealership getting maintenance done to it?

No offense, but I’m guessing you have never worked around automated machinery or an automated industrial plant and are not familiar with “Lock out, Tag out”

People have more than one car and mistakes happen.

Worked in plants since 1988 and I have taken several lock out tag out training classes. Probably have to talk to a tech to see how they prevent an accidental start.

I know at my dealer it is standard practice to disconnect the battery before doing service on any vehicle (even a simple oil change).

Don't know if that's Ford-specific, or industry-wide, or just my dealer... but I betcha all of this remote start technology is a key reason why they do that.

😦 of course I didn't believe it. I wonder how many other people will read that and walk straight to the garage like I did haha.

(22BlackDiamondGreen is correct)
Its a safety requirement -- so you're not wiring in your lights and your wife start your Bronco
