This is because there are not enough reservation holders with configurations that are buildable with the available parts/constraints, so the option is slow/stop the line or build Broncos no reservation-holder has ordered while they await the constrained parts necessary to make more reservations buildable. Not much to do with the dealerships, IMO.
People/company’s often have two reasons for doing something.... a good reason and the real reason. No doubt that there are some supply chain issues (good reason) but I seriously doubt that they can’t work their way down the reservation list to a buildable order. Of course doing so might mean building and order that is outside the dealership’s allocation and that would piss off the larger dealers who got the bulk of the allocations (real reason). Again, this comes back to keeping their customer happy.

This was one reason for the delay and it was right around your schedule build date I believe
Thank you for the link. I can see how that had affected the production then, but how does that affect the progress going forward since Ford has returned to production and shipping, but not those that have been built during that time. Is it the top? Is the vehicle flooded? Is the chip shortage? To state that it's still due to the flooding doesn't make much sense, but it could be. This is what I believe most of us that have a built Bronco sitting there would like answers to.

There was this one time that Mike Levine tweeted a little vaguely about a colleague of his dying from Covid, and a group of terrible people could only assume it had to do with the Bronco and started attacking him on twitter over it.

Then there was a group of terrible people here who started a thread where they could share screen captures of them bullying Mike Levine on twitter about the Bronco, and then when called out on their behavior explained how it's Mike Levine's job to be a punching bag for all their frustration.

Ugh.

People are the worst.
well said Zack!
bares repeating

I suspect the Ford account will get hammered with higher expectations, followed by lots of self-righteous chest thumping when they don't their demands answered

I'm hopeful a few respectful inquiries like @BuzzyBud will get answered, but fear those will get lost in the noise

ETA: clarity

Guess what, Ford is on the forum, responding issues. See attached.

@Ford Motor Company you won’t be bored here. Let’s say Ford communication has been non existent since the beginning and hopefully you can help solve that.

We need to hear more about the current issues (leaking roof, honeycomb roof patterns, QC issues…).

We also need to hear more about order scheduling. Why some people like me (hour 1 reservation, #1 allocation at the dealer are waiting for their Bronco to be scheduled while some people with the exact same build but ordered later are driving theirs?) what’s the scheduling look like this month?

Why can’t we get a roof rack on 21MY Sasquatch and what will be different in the 22 to allow roof rack?

I am sure many other questions are still unanswered. Thank you for hopefully bringing some clarity, help and communication to this chaos.

This is good news but it won't last long. With so many on here just
Nice... but it may be hard for them to tread through all the negativity to find the real questions.
Got that right! With so many on here complaining about silly and stupid stuff or hating just to hate, it probably won't last long. I mean look at the thread a few days ago about folks complaining about having to pay a delivery fee, or those that think they are experts in auto production that probably never make a tinker toy in their life.

So you’re saying Ford is intentionally not building higher-revenue, higher-profit-margin vehicles because the dealers would prefer them to produce barebones, less expensive ones that aren’t pre-sold? Tinfoil hat much? The only way you could even argue that is if you’re implying the dealers and Ford are conspiring to product more vehicles that the dealership can change ADM on and increase their profits. But many dealers are also charging ADM on reserved Broncos, so no.

You say that, but every time Ford sends out an email to communicate with us, half this forum jumps down their throat.
Perhaps that’s because their last 2 mass emails were to tell us to stay pumped, and the much anticipated 28 May email, that was supposed to tell everyone their build status instead told us they couldn’t provide a build status to anyone.

Instead it was recommended we change our orders from the Bronco we want to the one they can build…..if not, then it’s your own fault if you don’t receive your order this year, and Ford would just build them and ship them to dealerships to be sold to the general public.

Yeah, they deserve a bit of scorn for those attempts at communication.

Maybe the Broncos build at that time frame were damaged and scrapped. Not to defend ford but starting a new build during the state everything is supply wise is just bad luck. So many fields are having supply issues. I know for what I do, we can't get tattoo needles anymore from the suppliers that we normally order from because of manufacturer issues and when we do get them finally the quality is far worse than acceptable. It's just the way of the world right now

Over/under on folks burning them until they leave?

Folks, this is a nice opportunity to be heard. Be patient, be kind and a bit merciful. Not everything is their fault.

I really do understand your point. What I am saying, we don't know what the real problem is, if it's being addressed, and what the estimated time frame of this to be rectified. Communication, not speculation is all I'm asking for.
If you can't get your tattoo needles and a customer has an appointment to get a tattoo, and you can't do the job, do you tell them what the problem is and that as soon as they are received you can do the job. Or, do you not say anything until they show up and just tell them you just can't help them right now, but with no reason?

But you also have people who feel overly entitled.

Just as an example for reservation holders:

Premierdrum and I ordered nearly at identical times and have almost identical builds (I got the V6 and some additional options vs his build)

We both have reservations with in the first hour or so if it going live.

His build date never changed, but mine bounced around five times due to my options, but after everything was said and done, I was only a week late vs my first estimated build date.

His was delivered, meanwhile mine is bouncing around some place with the latest update putting it back into Ford's hands again on the 13th.

IMO this just shows the sheer volume of reservations Ford received within the first few hours. Then add in further delays for commodities issues and that is pushing back peoples build dates.

Bronco production isn't even up to full speed yet and I'm willing to bet that Ford has less than 5000 units built so far. They only sold 800 of them in the last week or two of June.

Ford has something like 150k+ reservations.
I don’t have an issue with what’s being built when, and I can understand the complexity of the project.
But, when I login to see my reservation there are no details- it even has the reserved trim not the ordered one. I have no visibility where I’m at in the process.
When I call THEIR marketing line, they can’t see my order or give me any info.
The communication is shambolic, and can’t just be explained by Covid or a big project.

it’s poorly run, and a reflection on Ford. They need to hear that.

As someone who is frequently verbally abused for systemic problems outside of my control, let us also remember that whomever is behind the screen name responding to any concerns on here is also a person and let’s treat them as such. With respect and without insult slinging.
That being said it is nice to know that Ford has someone here addressing the issues popping up. đź‘‹
