Ford Bronco First Contact. A few observations. 956E2239-68B6-43AD-BCF1-F736E1ADAC39

I know many of you have had a chance to see these up close and personal but this was my first chance to see the big rig in person. I have a few observations that might help people who have not ordered yet. I had the amb bd and silver wildtrak.

The first and possibly most important is that I was concerned about not getting the enhanced lighting package with the black diamond. After seeing them side to side there is very little difference in my opinion. The MGV is by far, in my estimation, the best interior option. I am getting up there in years, but I would say that getting in and out of a Sasquatch would get pretty tiring without a sidestep and being 50+. The backseat of the four-door definitely tighter than I would expect. In terms of engines - everyone on the bronco crew that I spoke with said that the 2.3 L was more than enough to haul around this rig. I was definitely looking for opportunities to trim costs in certain places and this was a welcome bit of information but not unexpected after driving my sisters 2.3l explorer.

That damn 6 speed gearbox sure looked and felt better in my hand than the automatic but I dread having it in traffic.

This was a dealer event in New York and the folks on the bronco team were very nice and I’m super psyched to get mine delivered even though I waited till next year with the hopes of getting green. I have more pics but nothing different than we’ve all seen a million times.

I saw the same 2 last week on LI and you're spot on with the sasquatch, I was able to get in and out no problem, but also being 50+ I could see it getting tiring. 32s on steelies will be perfect for me.

Every time I see this AMB it continues to confirm my choice in the colour. Every time I saw my original colour choice (Carbonized Grey) it would change and I would go from liking it (not loving it) to hating it.

Thanks for the picture and thoughts!

Those look like chipped paint points on the swing arms. Is there still excess ware on the catch points for the tail?

Looks like the tailgate swings out too far and hitting the hinge. And the ridge of the tailgate is hitting next to the tail light, chipping the paint there too. Not good! The tailgate stop needs to be adjusted or fixed. Ford needs to address this on production units.

Good thing they seem to have lots of time to do that...

I assume opening it to 90 degrees is a non-issue, but when you open it further. Also hard to say if some potential customer did this by reefing on the door in a stupid manner. I can imagine the abuse these demo vehicles are seeing. Still should be addressed regardless though.

I was thinking the same thing after seeing some of the videos of guys trying to break grab handles and ripping the dash apart.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed similar damage when checking these demo models out? I don’t recall noticing this in the tons of pictures I’ve seen. However I haven’t really been looking that closely at this particular angle either.

Coming from a 50+, did you perhaps sit in the front seats long and if so how comfortable was it for you. Could you see this as an occasional daily driver? My wife 4 Runner has no side step, she hated it, but I think a combo slider/side step will go on mine.
