Fifth gear unnecessary?

Does anyone else skip 5th gear completely?
and to a lesser extent, 3rd gear which has too small an operating range

I've read on here about some gears feeling short to people.

I don't have the manual trans but I've had them in the past. I've often skipped gears for ease of driving and fuel economy. My 2004 GTO has a system built in where it wants you to shift from 1st straight to 4th during normal driving. So instead of going down into 2nd, you just slide slightly to the right too and into 4th.

I use all ten of my gears.

It's okay to skip a gear. I do it in my Mustang and even occasionally on a motorcycle as well.

I cruise in 5th gear, never touch 6th

... are we talking auto or manual?

I find 5th gear perfect for 45 MPH speed limits. If you are accelerating to highway speeds I am sure skipping it is fine.

I use them all. I find 5th is perfect for cruising 45-55 like above. I'd get some stupid high MPG if I had long enough straights, we're talking 24+ on a Badlands.

You didn't delete that on day 2? It was awful. One little resistor in the plug and it doesn't happen anymore.

Never bothered disabling CAGS. For me, it was easy enough to drive and avoid it happening. I also did 1st to third a lot.
