You probably just made life much harder on yourself by telling them you were going to cancel. Someone else did this and the dealer tacked on an ADM.

Best bet is even if you are having mild thoughts of canceling is keep it to yourself. Dealers love cancellations and get dollar signs in their eyes as soon as they sniff one.

They had already told me I could have a family member buy it. I also have it in writing they will sell for MSRP and no ADM’s.

My Bronco was built on 3/7 and will be shipped any day now. The dealer told me I would have to meet someone at the dealer, and sign something saying I was releasing the vehicle for them to buy. Any takers? Located in Southern California, San Diego.

This sounds like a pretty cool deal, assuming there isn’t some bait and switch shadiness with the dealer.

Just for fun, what’s the window sticker price, and what’s your final plan on you letting someone else have it?

it’s probably a couple months too early for me too, based on my life situation, but why not ask? Right?

The sticker price is 61k. It’s a Badlands, grey, hardtop, Lux, leather, Sasquatch etc. I can PM you the build sheet if you want.

If you were not located across the country, I would do it on a heart beat.

If you have someone and are willing to go for the pain, good for you. Just make sure you account for tax, title, license, transfer, and any other fees. Also, don't breathe a word to the dealer until the ink is dry.

If you don't go this route, but still want to try to have it go through the dealer. Be upfront, tell them you have a friend who wants to buy your order, and let them negotiate with the dealer for whatever they can get. Don't be surprised if they aren't that interested though.

If not, there's nothing wrong with a cancel. The dealer treated you fair, apparently, and they'll get whatever they get for it. At the point you cancel, you just need to let go of the idea of it.

They had already told me I could have a family member buy it. I also have it in writing they will sell for MSRP and no ADM’s.
With that said, I still haven’t read if the dealer said you could have a family member buy it *while* honoring their msrp sale price that was intended for you as the buyer. If someone else is buying it, even if they are a family member, they are not obligated to adhere to their MSRP agreement. That agreement was made with you and not the family member.

Now, if the dealer said that a family member could buy it AND they would still sell it at MSRP to them, that’s great! But if all they said was that a family member could buy it, and there was no mention of honoring MSRP, they may be simply agreeing to sell it to the person you choose but still add the ADM.

I hope it all works out for you! 🙂 And I do agree with other posters here, if you do decide to buy it to turn around and sell it, I wouldn’t tell them. While you have it in writing that they’d sell it at MSRP, countless others have had that same agreement and have had their dealers go back on their word..And this is for people who were buying to keep it for themselves.

im thinking everyone is skeptical because dealers have upped their price in the past. I’ll confirm with them today. I was told MSRP and have it in writing. If I release the vehicle for someone eless to buy, I’m going to make sure they honor that. I have no interest in buying the vehicle, paying high reg fees and tax then reselling. Not worth the trouble to me. I’m really just trying to avoid the dealer making 20k plus mark up. That’s a scam IMO and not fair to so many people who waited so king for their Bronco.

We’ll it’s on its way, should be here in a week or so. The dealer said I can allow a family member to buy it at MSRP. I asked for something in writing from Ford because I may have a friend that wants it..waiting for the manager to get back with me. It’s looking like they are going to keep it and gouge someone for the price. If anyone wants it, let me know. I only ask for my deposit back, don’t need to make any money on it.
