Looking for some opinions. I ordered some Method 703's for my Bronco. Been reading about hub rings and all other kinds of things that are confusing me!

I called Method today and told them what I was doing. He said that they only recommend hub rings for front wheel drive vehicles, and that their wheels designed to be lug centric not hub centric. He did recommend extra thread lug nuts or ET lug nuts?

Is this needed when doing the aftermarket wheels? I have little experience with this. So many different opinions. The service guy at my dealership didn't know what hub rings were. Also had to explain TPMS to him then he wanted to charge me $500 for new TPMS sensors. I think when the wheels and tires get here I will be taking them somewhere else for install.

Anyway what is the consensus on the extra thread nuts? Still haven't decided about the hub rings either!

America's Tire has a good write up explaining the differences- between lug centric and hub centric.

@Fonz54 Thank you for tagging that link, you beat us to it :)

The Hubrings are certainly a great way to help minimize the likeness of a vibration due to a wheel not getting completely centered during installation.

This is likely why Method mentioned ET or extended thread lugs, these can act as a centering device as well due to the extra shaft sliding into the lug hole of the wheel prior to getting torqued.

If you have a Discount Tire store in your area we would love to earn your business on the installation and can help with the new TPMS sensors as well. Feel free to reach out if we can be of any assistance.
