Small block V-8’s can always fit I’ve seen V-8’s in Opel GT’s...Does it mean to manufacture designed the suspension to handle the extra weight?

Best I can see the 5.0 weighs 430lbs with accessories and the 2.7L weighs 440lbs - couldn’t find if that was with or without accessories.

So I have been seeing a lot of complaining on here and I just wanted to clarify a lot.

1 No SFA. (Not a huge complaint from most)
Most die hard rock crawlers are die hard jeep fans. Hence why ford went after the other 90% of the off road market and went after the Parking Lot Warriors. And if you are worried about articulation the RTI (which is the rating of articulation) is 700 for Bronco 730 for Wrangler. It’s so close you won’t notice.

2 No V8. A V8 will never come to the Bronco from the factory. Aftermarket SURE if you want to spend serious money for that v8 roar. The ecoboost line up will have MORE than enough balls to handle 35”s even the little 4 banger.

3 No hybrid/PHEV/EV. That is coming later. As soon as next fall. As late as 2023. We have seen leaks and reps have said it’s coming. Patients.

4 No Raptor. (Warthog) again coming later. Similar time line to hybrid. (Could even BE the Hybrid) we know little. Other than it will be bad ass!

5 No manual with Sasquatch and/or V6. That’s due to durability. Moving that much torque and moving those big wheels is going to put a lot of stress on the transmission especially the clutch. Sure they could make a HD transmission, but that would be horrible for road use. Odds are less than 15,000 manual Broncos will be sold annually. Not enough to just multiple set ups.

6 seats don’t fold flat.
I think there’s more to the story. I think you have to do multiple steps to get the seats flat. On my 2005 Focus you had to fold the seat bottoms forward then the backs down to get them to fold completely flat. It looks like those seats have more to offer.

7 a la carte options
Ford put out those package lists to see what people like and what people want. These options are DEFINITELY not finalized. This INCLUDES interior packages of color and seat and floor combos. There is still a whole lot more to come in this department and we have only seen the beginning.

8 “Subscription Navigation”. This is a package with the LTE. You get the Mobile hotspot, wireless CarPlay and AAuto. And fords navigation system that Includes all the popular off road trails as well as the ability to make your own trail and share it! Regular USB Based phone connection is standard.

9. No diesel...
I love a big coal roller. But a small oil burner in a small truck makes zero sense. Cost way to much up front and cost a lot to keep running. Yea slightly more torque is cool. But it’s just not worth the cost. And the hoops for ford to jump threw for the EPA is to high for the low take rate (10,000 maybe)

10 low towing.

You can either have a good off road platform or good towing. Not both. The suspension is what makes the difference. Tight hard suspension = good towing bad off road.
Soft suspension. Bad towing good offroad and comfortable on road.

You can’t have both.

So any of those complaints aren’t really worth you time right now. Give it a few more months and we WILL know a lot more. You have until DECEMBER it sounds like to change your mind on everything from dealer, trim, option engine etc. so please be patient. We have 4 more months to let ford tell us everything.

We already know SOOOO much. Body panels removable with ease. So many different accessories and the aftermarket is going to EXPLODE with options in a couple months. This is only the beginning people. More is to come in the next few months and next few years.

Ford KILLED it and blew most people expectations (including mine) out of the water even after the 5 years of build up, hype and leaks.

Yeah lots ovariables, long or short, dressed, accessories, flywheel....But I know you’re not almost doubling the displacement for 10 lbs.

I’ve heard this tripe so many times, oh the diesel won’t fit, oh the V6 won’t fit, oh the V8 won’t fit.
Manufacturers say whatever they want, aftermarket has had no trouble doing what the factory won’t do without interfering with the integrity of the vehicle.
Your being ridiculous if you think a V8 cannot physically fit in a Bronco.

Are those other manufacturers Exclusively running dual overhead cam V-8 engines??? FYI that means they are considerably wider. And the 7.3 L is the only pushrod (narrower) engine Ford has and it is just too large so please tell me what engine Ford has to fit?

And addressing your aftermarket comment. The aftermarket is a myriad of Frankenstein projects that no one knows if the engineering will hold up to the power that the V-8 puts out. This is a midsize ranger frame. It was not engineered for a v8. Additionally, The aftermarket, has a multitude of V8s to pick from, from a dimension perspective. Ford has effectively 2 V8s to choose from since the 5.0 and 5.2 are structurally the same (dimensions). Both The 5.0 and 7.3 are two wide/big. Price you pay for DOHC heads. Here’s just an example of how much wider the DOHC 5.0 coyote is compared to the pushrod 5.0

You guys need to pay attention to what V8s ford has (DOHC exclusively) and how large they are. You’re referencing tiny pushrod engines. FORD HAS NONE OF THOSE! The only pushrod they have is the 7.3 and it’s too damn big.

Obviously I’m talking Opel GT’s and V8 it’s old pushrod custom work and not dhc

The 4-dr model seems OK to me. 2.7l Black Diamond is a good start. I would have to put a better tow hitch on it if Ford doesn't, but I think that is doable aftermarket.

Seems to check a lot of boxes on the SUV wishlist. Great approach/departure/breakover, great engine power, easy to put larger wheels on. 21g fuel tank is adequate.

An inverter would be nice, hopefully it has a 150A+ alternator.

Likely it is, the 2.7L still has DOHC, it replaces two cylinders with the weight associated with the turbos. Those weigh greater than zero pounds. Displacement has nothing to do with block weight.

I see the Bronco on the same heritage level as the Mustang, I used to be a GM guy but I feel that’s somewhat wrong to do an LS swap, like putting an LSX in a Mustang. I think it’s funny we can accept the Mustang has multiple V8 designs but people want to hang me for heresy to suggest the Bronco has just as much as much right to have a V8.

Will the little 4 and 6 move it? Sure, but they’ll also move the Mustang but I don’t see Ford dropping the 8 from the Mustang.

Maybe I should do a LS swap...

You started this argument, throwing out names based on assumption hoss. You were questioning what ford has said. So You bring the measurements. Im here telling you why it is very likely true. And why your comparisons are not accurate. Now you’re eyeballing engine bay sizes. SMH. You obviously know little about the engines you are comparing and thus why one manufacturer (or customizer) can fit a V8 in a vehicle yet Another cant. Besides the obvious Fact that they are totally different vehicles With different engine bays, you We’re comparing jeep that get pushrod engine transplants to ford that has no pushrod engines. And I’m glad the 7.3 would be perfect for you but I’m not explaining why it’s too big for a bronco.

Super duty engine in a midsize frame. Smh.

So why exactly is it too big? It’s pushrod as you mention? It should be perfect. The only issue I see with it is the transmission is possibly too large.

Frankly trusting everything you hear says a lot about you, I mean I’m sure all those dual clutch focus’ were perfect and all those consumers were liars right?

I’m not sure why you think this is impossible, but keep making excuses.
