Doors Off: A Sticky Situation

Doors off has been cool ever since Jeep didn’t have any to take off. However, a modern problem has crept in to take away from the beauty of door free driving. The sticker!

While never appearing in press photos...

Real like is somewhat different. An array of stickers cover the back of the door jamb.

So, do you think Ford will come up with a clever way to hide these stickers? Are they even allowed to?

Worst comes to worst, I’m sure there’s going to be aftermarket door inserts to cover that right up.

This thread caused me to go to the garage and check things out. My two door Rubicon's stickers are on the driver's side door, not the jamb. Huh. Never even occurred to me that I wasn't seeing them when my doors are off. 2018 thing? Two door thing? I'm stumped.

I hear you about disliking the various required automotive stickers. When I get a new car (or a new-to-me used car), at the very least, the stickers on the sun visors get covered and any dealership stickers come off. Hate em.

So, I did a little further investigating and it’s a 2-door thing (sticker on door instead of jamb). Might be grandfathered in from back when the Wrangler doors were just a piece of thin metal and there was no real door jamb to speak of.

I'll be damned. Thanks! I foresee color-matched removable vinyl pieces to cover whatever nonsense may be cluttering up my Bronco's door jamb.

Not to seem mean at all, but I am further reminded about the "you could bitch about anything" I mentioned on here the other day, really, stickers? That is the concern? It's a sticker, remove and put elsewhere worst case scenario, but it's a sticker. Honestly I would be more concerned if somehow they started coming as "scratch and sniff" versus normal stickers. We are talking about one of the most customizable vehicles in recent modern years from a major manufacturer, stickers. yup...
