Anybody have any ideas to repair door damage? Putting one back on….I may have not seated it correctly and it may have dented the corner when it slid off and landed straight down.

Post a pic? A guy on Facebook did the same. Landed right on the corner and bent it in. He straightened it out with a crescent wrench.. worked alright but if you have paint damage I’d just bring it to a shop.

Does no one use the lower guide pin? I’ve had my doors off quite a bit and never had an issue with aligning the door when using that pin. I usually get the top in and tightened then pop the guide out.

Exactly like that! I didn’t want to use a crescent wrench and will take the body shop advice.
What I learned is DO NOT LET GO OF THAT DOOR until both bolts are in.
Thanks for the tip! I took all four doors off over this past weekend since the Chicagoland area is experiencing 80s! I will put them back before the weekend comes, so I will probably put a large plastic container underneath the door until I get the bolts in! Thanks again!!

I treat it like a pilot’s check list and don’t remove the pin before the top bolt is in. I did make the mistake on my first attempt of taking the front door off before disconnecting the wiring… somehow I held it up with one hand and my knee and didn’t damage anything and disconnected it. Will not make that mistake again.
