Does your Bronco ever lock itself with the key fob inside?

Happens to me all the time with my 24 wildtrak Lux package. I’ll be working on something outside the truck in the garage and have my phone and keys in the cupholder close the door and I come back to it to do something and the doors are locked. Another example is when I’m washing it (yes it does get washed every once in a while ) It’s a real pita. I haven’t looked to see if the passenger door is still unlocked. But if the keys are in it and it’s running, it will randomly lock it.

Did you used to leave your keys in the ignition??

While I have my silly double honk disabled via Forescan, if you don’t then we have an annoying situation. While key in pocket and one leaves a running vehicle (hopefully in park with parking brake on), honks every time upon exit.

Now, when off roading, folks frequently hop out to check their line, scout obstacles, spot a friend and so on. It is super annoying when the vehicle constantly double honks every time you do this.

Around town, key never leaves my pocket, parked in my garage, key inside the house.

Fair point, I, too, have left it inside while dropping or upping the top, etc....

I can't believe y'all are ok with keeping it in your pocket or just letting it float around places. I have double honk disabled, but I also hit window down when I get out as a habit from other vehicles that don't have the dummy protection of not locking.

Also, I still think some of you need a fresh battery.

It's been a long time since I had a pleasure to engage a living target(s). Since in my area everyone is armed, there is no chance for "carjacking experience". If I don't dislike people as much as I do, I'd move to Chicago. That's what I call "target rich environment".

City folks indeed don't understand how rural people feel safe in their isolation, where the only predators are possums, raccoons and coyotes - and even they know it is THEY which aren't safe.

The cupholder. If you leave them in the ignition the thing won’t stop beeping with the doors open.

I'd figure you'd at least drop down the barrel of the 12 gua....have to see if it would fit. Might need the 10.

I took my '23 Wildtrack to the dealer because the Bronco will lock itself randomly with the keys sitting inside the cup holder (I was locked out of the gym recently, don't worry I trust everyone there) and the dealer said they can't find anything wrong and it, namely that it "appears to be the normal design characteristics of the vehicle," which I take to mean "we ain't gots no idea what the hell is wrong with it." It also locks itself randomly when I park it overnight in my garage. Not all the time, but every so often.

Any thoughts? I was thinking maybe it's a faulty door lock actuator or there is just some kind of wiring gremlin, but it's getting quite annoying to go into my bronco to get something and finding that the doors locked themselves.

I have had situations at the gas station where I left my key fob in the cup holder and the driver side door locks. It has happened in my garage as well. Only the driver side door. Its irritating. I have a 2022 Big Bend SAS.
