Does CSX stop tracking?

The last update I have is from Sunday when my Bronco hit blue island, IL. No updates since. When the Bronco is transferred to UP, does CSX stop tracking? If so, do I need a new rail car number?

Or is it possible the car has been sitting there the last two days delayed?

Lots of things going on here...

So the rail car will be exchanged with the western rail in Chicago. Primarily the UP, but some have gone to BNSF. In fact, most going to the PNW I've seen have been on the BNSF. Interchange between rails can take up to 48 hrs, so it is very possible that your information is current.

Once, it goes to the western rail, the western rail will still give the CSX updates, as they are the carrier of record for this account. That said, these updates are not as accurate as what the western rail will provide.

Lastly, your rail car # is still good. They do not unload/load the vehicles while in transit. The BNSF doesn't have very good access to their trackers for outsiders. There is information on how to get your info on the UP on the trackers page.

Thanks for that info! I tried UP but couldn’t find a tracker option so was hoping I cools stick with CSX which it sounds like I should. Again, I really appreciate the info.

Funny you should mention CSX delay. My car sat in Clovis NM from Friday night until 2:45 this afternoon when it started rolling towards Arizona, yay, flagman

There is a BNSF classification yard in Clovis. I'm sure your car switched trains there.

Mine was in Gibson, IN yesterday which sounds like a huge auto transport yard. So, mine has essentially been in Chicago for days. I’m assuming it’s being switched to BNSF at the Gibson yard and then hopefully heading west.

there is no "Gibson, Indiana". A member in my 1/3 Build Week did a lot of googling and discovered that it's referring to Gibson Rail Yard, located in Hammond, Indiana; which is very close to Chicago. Map for reference:

Yes, I figured that out. Just like there is no Blue Island. But that is how CSX reports it.

What is the status on yours? Mine ended up in Kingsville, TX at some poin Mt which is damn near Mexico. Then they turned it around and it’s been in Richmond, CA for a few days now. Looks like they are unloading it there for some reason I don’t understand. I assume it’s on BNSF and they don’t want to use UP tracks. Anyhow, perhaps it’ll be trucked up to Portland where my dealer is located. This has been a mess.

Dealer is speculating that it's actually at portland rail since my delivery date was according to their system on the 11th. I was wondering if they were trucking it the rest of the way as well, or if somebody in Richmond has my bronco!
