. . . or, in other words, would changing your order to a less popular color choice increase your odds of getting scheduled for a build date?

I have wondered this myself. I would imagine there would be little influence on scheduling. It would seem likely to group vehicle bodies for same color paint before they make it to the general assembly line. Honestly, I doubt this would make any difference.

If I were you I would not change your color to try and get it sooner.

“My dealer said…” that they thought my EG color choice helped me get my Bronco sooner. They speculated that Ford wanted more of that color on the streets. I did jump many similar builds ahead of me, so maybe…

Yes.

They can only do a certain selection of colors at any given time. As you might expect, the more popular colors are easier to schedule. But overall it isn’t that impactful to scheduling.

I don’t know how many colors they can paint at one time in MAP these days (in the past at one point it was 6), but I do know that selecting the Desert Tan color for Everglades impacts when you will get scheduled.

The only colors that should affect your scheduled are the "custom/limited" colors, such as Desert Sand, Code Orange etc, and whatever color is available on the Ranger "Splash".

The "standard colors" are always loaded into the painting robots.

Thanks, all. Very good advice. Trying to stay the course and remain patient. But having too much time on my hands to think about it has been making me scheme for ways lately to try and speed up the process . . . which is a futile effort, I know . . .
