Good point on manually disconnecting it.
I have a '23 Wildtrak in NOVA. Manual disconnect would be a PITA and something you'd only want to do near the trail. I didn't like that idea. I went with a Rock Jock Anti-Rock sway bar. They've been around in the Jeep world for years.

As you may know, there's not a lot of rock crawling around NOVA, but the Rock Jock gives me peace of mind that if I encounter a situation where I'd want a disconnect, I'm at least 80%+ the way there with the Rock Jock.

Disco provides off-road comfort and a little better articulation, but you will be fine without it.

I drove a Badlands at the Off-Rodeo in Texas, so I switched back-and-forth. Going slow on bumpy/rocky roads was more comfortable with sta-bar disconnected. I did the hardest obstacles there both ways when I could - some difference, but it really depends on the situation. There wasn't anything there that I couldn't do connected.

While I could live without the disconnect on my Heritage Edition, with more off-road trips planned for the coming year, I wanted the comfort, so I ordered the OEM disconnect, and plan to wire it to an Aux switch. I'll be able to turn it on/off as I wish. It's a pretty straightforward install. You can probably talk your dealer into doing it if you're not a DIYer, or hire a mechanic. I ordered the part MB3Z-5482-X from Levittown Ford Parts for around $1,300 shipped. I also ordered the one-time use lock nuts, although you can use the current ones at your own risk.

Also, important update on what is likely the more correct wiring (wiring solenoids in series):

This is what I've been looking for. The solenoids on the OEM disconnect I installed were almost too hot to touch. I was about to return the unit thinking it was defective. I'll rewire in series as suggested.

Great - I hope it helps. Let us know if it fixes the issue.

I've been on terrain (typically large, out of phase whoops) where I couldn't make it through. There was not enough traction on 2 wheels to get me up/over/through. I hit the sway bar disconnect and just felt the whole vehicle articulate mord and settle into the terrain. After that, easy going, not stuck and cruise through.

It's simple, if you get into spots where it ends up being very hard or impossible due to "articulation traction", then go for the mod.
