I came across these battery powered LEDs and was really happy with how well industrial strength velcro sticks them to the sound deadening headliner. Obviously this installation requires a MIC top with sound deadening and you only need the hooked side of the Velcro as the headliner serves as the looped side. My lights came from Target ($12) but they seem to be readily available.
