Look at all of them!
That's twenty 30-second clips of that buck thrown together into a 10-minute video. Yep, a few other bucks in the footage as well. I had 4 years of footage of that buck before I finally got him.

About a minute before I arrowed him:

Wish I could find me a picture of the scene in the movie "Deer Hunter" where they strapped the buck to the hood of that '59 Cadillac. Maybe that is what the "trail sights" were really intended to be used for. ;-)

[edit]: sorry, not a hunter.......just offering up another useless post.

It’s been a long time since I’ve transported a whole animal. A large animal gets quartered for pack out, but deer size game gets quartered where it lays using a gutless method. Everything goes in ice chests in the back.
If I had to for a short distance, a hitch carrier would be my preferred method.
I was going to say exactly this. Gutless is the way to go.

I forgot to mention disposable red table cloths from the dollar store. they pack easy and light, making a great place to put the quarters and cape not in the dirt. They can also be used to make a help signal visible from the air. They go in my go bag and hunting bags.

I’ve put them on the back seat a few times, I can’t get it in the back of a 2 door so I guess the cargo area instead

I use the super duty (actual truck) for all hunting/ fishing endeavors, easy to hose out bed. Bronco (SUV no bed) is for trails, joyrides, camping, etc. not hauling stuff. Now you city folk know the difference and can quit calling your Bronco a truck. 😉

Normally I channel my inner Dexter and wrap whatever up in plastic and throw it in the back. Couldn’t find my plastic the other day so I threw a small hog on the JCR brush guard. Rode 12 miles without issue

By your logic, the hybrid Ford Maverick is more of a truck than my body-on-frame Bronco with a "truck" chassis and "truck" engine :D

Yes but it's not just my logic, Ford has the Bronco listed under SUV's on their website and that's also what my title, registration, and insurance all classify it as.👍🏻

How do you guys that hunt plan on getting your deer home without quartering them? Is there a way besides throwing them in the back or using a hitch basket?
im gonna be hunting with 3 buddies in a 2 door, thats just enough space for us and our gear….
the deer has got to be tied to the hood or over the spare tire or tied to the roof rack.
has anyone found any aftermarket parts that help with my case?
and no we can’t quarter it and shove it in coolers.
would rather on the hood instead of back with the exhaust fumes. (aka anything with the hitch)
and itll likely be an hr-hr and a half drive.

Put it in the driver seat, have your buddy duck down in the passenger seat to drive and then strap yourself to the hood.

Hilarity will ensue.
