Ding Ding Ding! As long as we can switch our reservations, that is. Otherwise they have us.
All they have is $100.

If I find a comparable vehicle at thousands less than the one I ordered, I'll let them keep the hundred and go and save another 900+ dollars somewhere else.

Except I have a First Edition reserved. I won't be able to get that with a new reservation.

The $100 is refundable also if you cancel your reservation.

"Congrats on getting the order in on time to reserve the First Edition – we’ve had a lot of calls this morning from customers asking how they can reserve one now that they show sold out. Ford has not disclosed yet whether there will be X Plan pricing available on the Bronco, but due to the unprecedented demand and the extremely limited production of the First Edition we would not be able to honor an X Plan price on this model even if they had it. We are planning on marking up the First Edition over MSRP, as it will be one of only 3500 made and each dealer will be lucky to get 1 or 2 in total."

This makes absolutely no sense. YOU have the reservation for the "First Edition" it isn't like the dealership is being allotted this vehicle to sell to whomever the dealership sees fit. They have to sell it to you.

If Ford allows the dealerships to screw the people with the reservations then the launch will be a disaster.

San Tan Ford in Gilbert Arizona confirmed selling for no more than MSRP. Sounds like wiggle room to get under MSRP.

As an update, the dealer I am switching to told me to call to do this as it's written out somewhere for them. So here we are, waiting on hold with the 800 number. Lots of other customers talking to their agents it seems!

yeah it doesn't make any sense. plus from a strategic point of view, if if they were planning on it why would the dealer say its a guaranteed markup this far out? all that will do is turn people off. you'd think they would just give a noncommittal answer up until close to the final configuration is due

lot going to hinge on whether I can change dealers or not. if not then I clearly have to get a refund and will just wait till they show up on the lot.

Even if you go through picking it out, all the options and color, etc and you get assigned a VIN number - if you can't find a fair price, I'd just say eat the $100 and try again.

You are in more of a predicament if you are committed (and are able) to a First Edition model. MSRP is fair on that vehicle.

The question would be, is the vehicle is so high demand that someone off the street would snatch it up at over MSRP?

I dunno the answer. As soon as I read "limited to 3500", I said, "I'm out". Equally, I have no interest in a warthog/raptor edition.

Anything they have that is a must get, I can get afterwards.

Good luck.

Dealer in socal stated - no markup or dealer fees. Just title, taxes, and registration. Unfortunately that was not the dealer on my reservation list, still waiting on a call back from them. Will switch if necessary.

Can someone shed sone light on x-plan pricing, where do I sign up?

@ $6.34 a pop that may cost a few bucks... Yeah I bought my 10 shares yesterday just for the fun of it.

Do like I did, Mustang Club of America $25 membership, x-plan pricing in 60 days.
Do you have to own a mustang?

UPDATE:

So Ford customer care rep said you cannot change the dealership on their end. This is a change from the MACH-E process. The rep further stated that this is because the "price" should be locked in (options and all that notwithstanding) so they don't want a lot of games with dealer pricing.

I don't know whether this is accurate or not; obviously, a different rep could give different advice/feedback. For me personally, the dealer with my reservation stated that they will not charge more than MSRP so I am comfortable keeping it with them.

Um I happen to own one.

But NO you do NOT need to own a mustang.

Edit: there is a Bronco Club of America as well. They may offer the same deal in future, but last I checked they weren't set up for memberships yet. Said Summer 2020

I have previously owned 2, that should count for something, right?

We need to be a member for 60 days before being able to use X-Plan, is that also how it works?
