Yes, I created this template. This test cut is scaled down for proof of concept. I haven’t created a full size template yet. Probably this weekend.

So, this weekend, I went ahead and created the full size graphic and installed it on the Bronco. After the comments here, I did revise the ‘X’ to define it a little better.

Turned out nicely for a DIY job, ended up installing really easily and so smoothly too.

Prior to picking up our Bronco, I purchased a semi-professional vinyl cutter as I wanted to have some fun with decals and graphics on it.

My wife and I finally decided upon a vision, I designed it, and then test cut a small scale version this afternoon. I am beyond excited with how it turned out.

Based initially on the Wildtrak matte black and gloss black hood decal, it’s matte black with our gloss black ‘XANTHUS’ logo, and then a topographic element with a steampunk inspired skull in the middle of it.

Can’t wait to get the full size one cut out and installed. Here are some pictures of the small scale test and design.

EDIT: Full size graphic has been installed now, with a couple of tweaks mentioned further down in this thread.

Have you experimented with adding an additional transparent layer on top (the size of the matte black base layer)? I did a somewhat detailed gloss black topo design on a matte black hood bump decal and was wondering if adding a transparent layer could act as a ‘sealant’ so that you don’t have to be as cautious with cleaning the ‘design’ layer. Mine has held up well over the past 3-4 months, but I cringe every time I go to clean it.

I'm absolutely there with you! The 'XANTHUS' is fine, I can clean over that no problem at all. But the top design is having issues with a cloth dragging on it. I've considered peeling off the gold, and recutting it, without any points on it at all, making all the edges rounded. That way there's nothing to snag on.

Alternatively, as you say, a clear layer over the top might not be a bad idea either. Might be worth a try too. At the end of the day, it's only vinyl, if I mess it up, I can do it over, as I cut it all and install it myself.

I’m trying to make a custom hood vinyl (anti-glare) for my 2021+ Bronco Badlands.
Does anyone have the exact measurements of the center hood bulge area (width top/bottom and length)?
Even a template or stencil would help a lot.
