I plan to ceramic coat then clear bra sensitive areas. I have friends in the business luckily so it isn't going to cost me $3000+.

I definitely recommend wrapping. You can save money if you tell them you don't need to pull off the bumpers and they don't need to do door jams. Chances are you are going to want/need to rewrap panels anyways down the road.

It is a good topic question though, regarding custom factory paints. I was wondering the same thing, seeing how the wife has been on a Yellow kick here lately.....I've been wondering if they have a fleet yellow for the Rangers that they could spray on the Bronco, since it's the same line.
I'm also certain it is NO WHERE near being that simple...but hey, gotta hope , right?
If rust is automotive cancer...Plastidip is car herpes.
That bud huh? When I first heard about it, it seemed kind of cheap, but since then, I've seen people doing it to expensive cars with what seem like pretty remarkable results. I wonder if its "cheap" reputation is truly deserved?

Maybe, they'll offer some extra charge optional colors. Most models have extra charge colors ranging from $ 400-600. Rapid Red and Star White for example.

or take it to Maaco. They will do it for like $500. Keep in mind that’s a VERY CHEAP paint job. 1 MAYBE 2 coats.
The quality of preparation, the quality of paint and the skill and care of applying the paint are absolutely not available at Macco or similar discount paint shops. In my opinion you would destroy a perfectly good brand new Bronco it you did this. Further, you would destroy the resale value with a cheap paint job.

I have a bad story that I don’t talk about with plasti dip. Long story short is if you wait too long to take it off it gets very thin and brittle. It won’t peel. You have to melt it off.

Might the new Bronco have custom paint options available from the factory, and if so, how much does that usually cost? I like the current set of colors but feel like it's really missing green. Ideally, I'd go for a dark seafoam metallic green with white trim similar to the ones below. Though I'm against buying new cars generally, something like this would just be so perfect that I'd really want a new one.

Think the only factories offering that are Audi, Porsche high end brands and if you have an extra $3000 and up. Buy one and have it professional wrapped.....

Yeah, I have my hopes on picking out a full wrap. Not only does it immediate set you apart from the sea of drab but it will protect the paint from trail rash to a degree.

Btw just for clarity’s sake. You melt it with solvents. I chose WD40.

Special order paint colors are limited to fleet orders these days as far as
I know. Gone the way of the individual option order book.

Thanks for the suggestions y'all. I know that there are some good aftermarket options - wrap is probably the best in order to avoid messing with the paint. It's just that OEM paint is ideal for several reasons. Not a dealbreaker by any means - just hoping that Ford will expand its options in the future.

EDIT: have any of you messed around with dipping your car?
I was actually about to start a thread asking about this myself.

Fortunately for me, there's a body shop that works on Classic Muscles all the time, so I'd talk to him, though I'm still asking my dealer to see if they could do Grabber for Extra and have Rapid as a fallback default option

I think those full paint jobs are using professional paint equipment though, they aren’t using rattle cans. Bet it’s expensive.

Im wrapping the Bronco matte- desert sand most likely but that depends on the interior color options.

EDIT: have any of you messed around with dipping your car?
Have you ever plasti-dipped anything before or even felt it? It has a strange rubbery feel too it and even with the glossifiers still has a matte like look to it. I did my wheels on my CTS-V and they turned out very good but that was almost 2 days work to clean, prep and spray them. The up keep and durability with dip is no where near as easy as a wrap either. Wrap would definitely the better way to go.
