Ceramic Coating

Greetings,
I have a production date of 1/29/24 and I hope this holds and my dealer Galpin Ford says I should get it sometime around the first of March (if all goes as planned). I have heard a lot about Ceramic Coating to prevent some Arizona Pinstriping but don't know anyone that has done it except my son-in-law on his Tesla and that doen't count. Any opinions and does it work? If so can anyone recommend a shop in SOCAL that does good work. Any help would be appreciated.

It won't prevent pinstriping. If you are rubbing against something hard enough to scratch the paint, it's going to go right through whatever wax you decide to use (and that's all ceramic is, really really nice wax).

It will help mud and stuff wash off a lot easier. And it looks damn pretty.

If you want to prevent pinstriping you need to pony up to vinyl wrap (which will help somewhat, and you can get in any color/designs, including just "clear"), or go whole hog in on body armor - Ford Performance carries a lot of it, and there's a lot aftermarket, but it's kinda piece by piece for what you want to protect, and you won't be able to see the paint job underneath. Limb guides and good front bumpers can help as well.

I agree with Brian. PPF is the solution to combat pinstriping. Ceramic coatings are worthwhile in terms of shedding debris and making the car easy to wash, as well as proving an incredible sheen.
