IIRC someone said the factory center console is lockable.

I definitely would feel better with the vault over a regular lock on the console. Especially in a situation of having the top off and keeping valuables safe.

I guess that’s for the John Wick wannabe’s for when they wanna get a little naughty.
yup... you found us out. John Wick wannabe's all....

Dumb comment, but I think you knew that.

For those of us that are more "prepared", I think this a great idea. I like my equalizer a little more "accessible", but this would work great for storage when the hard top is off or with a soft top.

It is. Here's a picture I took of the BL at Sanderson.

There is a lock but with the doors off and the wire pass through directly below the lock, it would be better with the vault. I feel the vault bolted inside the console vs a lock with access for a screw driver or other tool to break the armrest would be more secure.

In some states a locking center console or glovebox does not meet the standard for securing a firearm in a vehicle... the separate metal lockbox does.

And before you try to argue the reasoning, I didn’t right the law.

;)

No argument here. I've been carrying for 35 years and I firmly believe you should never leave one in a vehicle anyways. Even with a vault it's only encased in plastic so a good smack with a hammer will tear it right apart. Take the vault and stick it in a vise and crowbar it open. But you're talking to someone who has an 1150 lb safe in his bedroom. ?

What would be awesome is auto unlocking when key is near... And locking when away. After all, the ignition does exactly that!

You could alway put your pet Cobra or Tarantula in the console with whatever may be valuable. Pretty sure that would deter would be thieves.
