Carseat in 2 door?

I promise I used the search button, saw plenty for 4 door just nothing for 2 door.

What does everyone figure the odds are of fitting a rear facing car seat in a 2 door are? It would go behind the passenger seat where my height disadvantaged (5'2") wife would be basically the only passenger.

Her car is the baby mover 99% of the time, but I do still need the option of loading little man up.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. As a die-hard 2-door purist, I was wondering if my kids were still little (they're not...they are 20 and 28) could I have made the 2-door work?

If your dealer gets a 2-door mannequin, take the carseat and try it. The LATCH system is there, so it is obviously designed to do it.

When mine were in rear-facing seats, I preferred to sit in the back with them. Maybe you could try that and see which way works better... wife behind driver, or wife behind empty passenger seat.

I picture it like you hold baby, wife hops in back, you hand wife baby, and she buckles up baby and hangs out back there.

with a rear facing, you'll have troubles unless you take the baby out of the seat and hold them while getting out (or in). we had the uppababy mesa/vista seat and stroller. the good thing was the car seat would go into the stroller. but in something like a 2 door bronco, the car seat would have a lot of trouble or be really heavy getting it from the back row and out the door. that's the good thing about the 4-door. if they are toddlers and can walk in and out of the back row/their seat, buckling them in and out isn't a problem. might be easier in the 2 door if you can stand behind the front seat and face them.
