Base Bronco. Android Auto connects wirelessly every time. No issues. Ever.

Guess I'm just lucky?

Either that or my combination of Bronco and phone just really like each other.

I have yet to experience an automobile where CarPlay or android works without issue. If it works flawlessly for one phone then it generally doesn’t for a spouse’s or 2nd phone. My experience is with American, Japanese and German makes.

Mine connects fine with AA but when making a call it never works on the first try.
The call goes through but you can't hear the person you called when they answer. You also don't hear it ring as your call goes through.
So I try the call, if I don't hear the ringing in couple of seconds, I hang up and try again.
I have this exact issue. So freaking annoying. I also intermittently get it where the only icon on the screen that reponds is the button in the lower left of the screen. None of the icons respond.

Anyone figured out how to set a priority for the phone's to connect? I erase all other phones cause mine never connects first. It’s not Alphabetically controlled..tried that. Very annoying..why not pick last phone connected? nope that doesn’t happen.

Changed my vote. 12" using Carplay, never an issue till the latest update. Now locks up, disconnects, was supposed to address issues but created them in my case.

I upgraded my iPhone to 17. Took a few tries to connect apple play again. Did notice the background is now plain where it used to be a blur of the cover. I’ll see how this does with the upgrade now.
I looked at the cover image on my phone and noticed the image is now animated!

I just bought my '23 Bronco yesterday, trying to use wireless Android Auto with my Galaxy S21 Ultra, and I'm already seeing the following error roughly 50% of the time when I start up the truck. I have to play with the AA settings and reboot everything on both sides of the connection to eventually get it to work.

The other 50% of the time works without any issues whatsoever. No obvious cause or difference.

Lame af.

22 Badlands High / Samsung S23 Ultra - has worked almost flawlessly for 51 weeks. Then.... the latest update happened. Started having intermittent call drops. Then, random AA disconnections. Now, it won't connect at all. Really @Ford Motor Company ?

I know this is a dead thread but 23 Raptor with 12" screen and Android Auto constantly disconnects. Aucks because I use Waze as my nav.

Just did an 1100 mile round trip with no problems but I've had them in the past. This trip I had it hardwired into the console port with AA running Waze and Rocket Player (music).

Samsung Flip Z Flip4.

Keeping the phone cool seems to be the key for me.
1. Don't use the wireless charger. It doesn't charge hardly at all and it overheats the phone.
2. Put the phone in a place where it can cool itself. Out of the sun, away from heat sources, good airflow to both sides etc.
3. Even wired charging can heat up the phone but if I abide by rule#2 it's generally good.

If you have a case on the phone, ensure that it isn't trapping heat made by the phone and not allowing it to cool.

I hope that helps.

I had an issue where the FordPass app prevented AA on my new phone from working properly. Uninstalled the app and my phone worked without issues. Tried a couple weeks ago to test the FordPass app again and my AA still works just as well. In my case, either a later update with FordPass sorted things out with my phone or it needed to be paired prior to FordPass being installed.
