Let us know if you find a way to “feel confident“ 🤣
My Bronco hasn’t yet arrived at Granger. However, I referred a friend who ordered a new Grand Cherokee from Granger and they had it transported to Georgia using one of the shippers that was among some names provided by Granger. They were thrilled with their Granger experience and since I didn’t hear anything to the contrary, I assume that they were happy with the shipping experience as well. I’ll try to find out who they used.

This is who my friends used for shipping. $1144 from Granger to Atlanta area, a few months ago. They did feel that this company was probably a broker. Their vehicle arrived on a small open car hauler (they were expecting an open car hauler, not sure if they had a choice of open or closed), pulled behind an F-450. They were happy with the experience - with that said, if it’s a broker I guess you never know what/who you will get. The person that they dealt with in arranging transport was Brian. YMMV

@Zach@Granger

I’m in the same boat. 10k under Black Book & KBB. Not looking to get top dollar, just within the ballpark.
They initially offered my $38,000. After talking to Zach they came back with $45,000 and said they got the offer confused with another trade in. Which I doubt is the case. They’re just trying to save face with such a low offer.

What were/are you trading in?

My granger offer is lowest of all options for my badlands so far....

21 Gladiator Rubicon with 19,000 miles With about $6000 worth of add ons to include 35 inch tires and a 2 inch Mopar lift. Talking to the finance people is nothing like talking to Samantha. KBB estimated between $48K-$51k for trade in.

I could be all wrong, but I would imagine a smaller dealer in the middle of Iowa doesn't want to deal with a ton of trade ins due to selling 600 Broncos in the next few months. They would likely have to turn around and send them to auction anyway, so I am not surprised the numbers would be low on a trade offer.

Any new Grangetober deliveries recently? Or anyone else just feeling the passage of time slow to a crawl as the trains make their roundabout path towards Granger? This thread has been quiet for a bit. Would love to see if anyone has had anything exciting happen! (And if you got yours how did it play out, etc)

I've done a bit more research and chatted with one of the largest and highest rated brokers [Montway]. Here's what they had to say (nothing independently verified but they came across as a legit operation unlike some of the cheapest options):
  1. Nearly every company you contact is a broker but some will present themselves as an actual carrier. Car transporters are in the business of transporting cars, not finding new customers. This is why the industry overwhelmingly relies on brokers.
  2. The cheapest price is never a guaranteed price [seems likely based on reviews of the brokers with the lowest quotes and all the claims of a bait and switch]. Many companies will quote you an abnormally low price but will be unable to successfully find you a carrier, delaying your shipment.
  3. Don't book with multiple brokers; booking with multiple companies for your vehicle transport actually hurts you as it creates a bidding war against yourself on the national board that all carriers and brokers use to post and find shipments.
  4. No brokers have carriers lined up when you book with them; dates are estimated. Many factors such as truck and driver availability, traffic, weather, breakdowns, and even the route, can impact actual shipping dates
  5. All licensed brokers and carriers are required to carry insurance coverage though amounts vary; Montway offered to provide proof of the carrier's coverage if I go with them and once the carrier is lined up (in their case, they require a $125k min)
With all of the above in mind, my thinking is it may be worth it to go with a low quote provider provided you don't pay anything (and don't commit to any cancellation fee) until they have a carrier lined up and you see the proof of carrier insurance. I'll try to negotiate a bit with the highest reviewed brokers (Sherpa, Montway, Lepke) and if they are within $200-300 probably just go with them but if not, I'm leaning low cost provider.

I would still love a real review of a low cost provider from a B6Ger! If I end up being the guinea pig, will report back.

I was a Grangtober orderand picked mine up this past Friday. It was smooth as could be. Flew into DSM in the morning, Granger picked me up along with one other fellow Bronco buyer from the airport. I had signed my paperwork electronically with Shelby beforehand so that my wife wouldn’t need to be there in person. So when I got there, Samantha greeted me, had me review the vehicle, gave me some pointers on it, and I had to sign one more paper in ink. But all in all, I was in and out within 15 minutes. It was actually anticlimactic after waiting 2.5 years, but that’s probably good. I made the drive back to MD and was back home Saturday night, trying to vary the route with plenty of stops and non-interstate driving to try to adhere somewhat to the break in recommendations. It’s good to have it sitting in the driveway, but I need to finish cleaning off all the bug splatter from the trip!

There were at least 12 other Broncos sitting on their lot when I was there. The shuttle driver mentioned they just recently expanded their parking lot to accommodate the influx coming in the next few months!

Good to know about being able to do the signatures electronically, my wife won’t be with me either and I hadn’t even thought of that.

@runfastdontstop yeah that makes sense on it being anticlimactic. We're all expecting a parade and celebration and they're going to be like, sir there's 50 people waiting behind you. Please move along.

In the 33 hours since the railcar carrying my Bronco left MAP, it has traveled approximately 60 miles or an average of 1.8 miles per hour to Walbridge, OH. I didn’t realize that CSX had switched from locomotive to mule power. 😂

How closely did you track your Bronco when it was on CSX? Do you know how long it sat in Omaha before making the last leg of the journey to Granger? And how long was it at Granger before you were given the go ahead to come get it?
