There is zero comparison between these two in the power department. I just did a trip from Colorado Springs to Yellowstone and back and the headwinds when headed west on I-80 were between 40 and 55MPH.

My Wrangler (which had a 3.6L and was heavily modded including 5.13 gearing) would have up and downshifted between 5, 6, 7, and (maybe) 8, hundreds of times on that stretch of road. I can count on 1 hand the times the Bronco did and typically because I accelerated otherwise, it would stay in 10th and the boost would go up and down.

I was running between 75 and 80MPH into that headwind and managed 17.9MPG on the trip up and 19.6 MPG on the way back. The Wrangler would have been in the 15.x range going up and the 17.x range coming back.

Really happy with my decision to kick the Wrangler (aka G-Wagon in mod costs) to the curb. This 2.7L TT kicks ass!

Even our 2.3 feels much stronger than the 3.6 in the Gladiator we traded in. Was only averaging 16.5 mpg in the jeep with 33” AT’s and now about 18 in the Bronc with 35” MT’s.

Just made a trip from Houston to sequoia, kings canyon, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Great Basin, over5200 miles and love the Bronco!
I got an average of 19 mpg and my Bronco is pretty quiet and comfortable. No comparison to our Jeep Rubicon, it struggled to get up those long high elevation grades, my 2.7 didn’t even need to down shift out of 10th gear!
I think it’s pretty ridiculous when CR compares the Bronco and Wrangler to on road SUV’s. How about taking them to Moab and see how those SUV’s do on Poison Spider.

I too like my 2.7L tt, it has really solid acceleration even with my 35’s and 4.27 gearing, throttle delay/pedal lag is a pain, but installing the FP tune in next two weeks, hoping that helps throttle delay…

2.7 EB is a fantastic engine. It’s even more impressive in an F-150. A friends residential construction co. has 7 crew cab 150s with 4wd, all pull 6x12 box trailers with millwork equipment and range from 2018-2022. No issues with any of them, plenty of torque and they get about 16-17 mpg pulling the trailers mostly in city/suburban driving. Very happy I ordered the v6 in mine
