My friends would totally get a landcrusher if it wasn't paired automatically with the hybrid system. The Lexus is better and the 4runner exists, so whats the point of the Landcrusher?

I would love the LC at $48k. They advertise $57 but you can't get one for less than low 60's. At that point you are in the GX, like you said.

Which doesn't have a hybrid system but a tired and true V6tt. By now they worked out the kinks of the initial flawed ones, and hopefully you find one already built as the tariffs come in tomorrow

The Land Cruiser is the modern equivalent of the prior 4Runner.

The new 4Runner is a bit of a downgrade.

I used to have a '98 (bought used) and an'04 (bought new) loved those rigs, so when the new LC was announced I was excited initially, but actually liked the styling of the 4Runner better based on some pre-production pictures.

So, when the 4Runner officially debuted I was cross shopping it with the Bronco. What ultimately steered me away from the 4Runner was the hybrid setup which was your only powertrain choice for the upper trim levels, along with the reviews stating that the engine sounded like a tractor and that it ran out of breath as it gained speed.

In the past Toyota has always had the upper hand from a reliability standpoint, but they too recently have shown that the are no longer bulletproof. I got 160K miles on my 2004 Land Cruiser and all it ever asked of me was oil changes, brakes and tires.

I'm afraid that those days may be long gone.

So, I went with the WildTrak. Could have gone with the Lexus. It is a good looking rig, but I was already spending more than I wanted to.

Obviously gave up some towing capability compared to the 4Runner, and I'm not kidding myself that Ford would have the upper hand from a reliability perspective, but with Toyota quality not being a slam dunk anymore, I made my choice.

Time will tell.

I have owned about 20-25 Toyota 4WD's throughout the years and I have watched their sales tactics for many years. Toyota has historically advertised special lease rates or low interest loans to move the current year's inventory, typically in August, to make way for the upcoming year.

I was surprised to see the LC being advertised recently with a special lease rate on a TV ad. I would draw from this that Toyota has missed the mark on pricing themselves out of consideration for most folks. That along with a new drive train have many sitting on the sidelines waiting to see how this new powerplant shakes out. I love Toyota... don't get me wrong but the 3.5L engines in the Tacoma was a swing and a miss.

A pretty bad review overall of all three vehicles. Don't drive them hard in any situation as they were afraid to damage them and ensure that all the "off roading" is on a smooth dirt road. So, take the capabilities out of the equation, and you basically have a review on the interiors, and the comfort of the ride. In my view, I am not impressed, pretty useless overall.

Test drove all 3. Bought the Wildtrak. It’s my third Bronco (74 and 92). The Wrangler was meh, the LC was super comfy inside but the engine, suspension and tires all sucked. Was like driving a sailboat; super wobbly in the curves. And I do the trails here in FL; not confident the LC was up to it in stock outfit.
