I don't know that I would put it that way. You could also say that the 2 door crowd wasn't being supportive enough, weren't buying enough, and it wasn't worth it to Ford to continue building a 2 door. This even when there were likely some people buying the 2 door and wishing there was a 4 door option. The Bronco was due for a refresh so rather than simply refresh, they did the following:@DaveH is right, though, the four-door crowd is responsible for killing off the Bronco in the first place.
- Refresh the Bronco to align with the F-150 refresh.
- Offer it in a 4 door.
- Eliminate the 2 door. Ford couldn't sell enough 2 doors when that was the only option. How could they expect to sell enough when it had to compete with the 4 door option?
- Rename it to Expedition.
