Anyone know if Ford plans to make improvements to the trail app? I don’t use my phone as a dashcam so its really not a competitor to OnX or Gaia in terms of functionality. It hasn’t seen an IOS update in 2 months which is making me worried its not really going anywhere. If they added the ability to get the telemetry and/or record the built-in Camera’s I’d call it amazing. I know those were rumored abilities before it came out but was just wondering if its in the roadmap. At the very least it’d be cool if they open sourced it or some of it so that the community could help improve it.

I've had issues getting it to work half the time... we were trying to do the treasure hunt a couple weeks ago and had to delay a trip to Utah for a day because we couldn't get the app to work.... I like the idea of it but functionality is lacking.

Yeah I faced the same thing when I first tried it out. I used it this previous weekend for hours without too much fuss, the difference was I didn’t have it record any video. Maybe try disabling the video? But at that point…theres other apps that do more…

I can’t seem to get it to stay recording and the video is locked in landscape mode which is not how I mount and use phone in the vehicle. From the dash view my GoPro is better but doesn’t have the ford overlay the app provides.

Coming up short of greatness. Feels like a developers hobby project that was abandoned short of viability but then released anyways.
