The bronco…..
I got on this train last year because of my 6 yr old self. He remembers ridin’ around with my ole man in his 73’, around the gravel roads and cornfields around my Grandpas farm. It was some of the brightest happiest memories I have of my Dad. Bob Seger and Broncos always brings me back to the cornfields of my youth.
fast forward to picking her up yesterday. I held a stupid grin and a happy tear in my eye. The thing is a beauty.
I have the 4 door BL, 2.7 cactus, optional wheels. 1st impression seeing it on the showroom floor was how much bigger it looked in person vs. photos. Made me happy. Sitting inside the bronco is awesome. I love the MGV, too me it’s supple and feels good to the touch, the dash, the controls feel sturdy and of quality. I know people have disputed this but for me coming from a Tacoma the bronco feels like a good utilitarian multi use vehicle. It drives like a dream, the IFS makes this thing float down the road. Overlooking the hood and the hood sights is impressive, love the way it feels humming down the road. I do hear some road noise but too be honest it was less than I thought with the soft top. I’m extremely happy with not going squatch the 33s with optional wheels makes it look and feel tough.
The soft top fold back easier, the roof clamps are stiff and take a little bit to close shut but the quality of the soft top
Seems good overall. I’m happy with my decision of switching to it. Haven’t tried taking the doors off yet, that will be for another day.
Some things that I don’t care for, the radio seems a little “tingy” but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be hearing all the complaints. I don’t care for the auto- stop, but if I remember to there is a shut off button for it., the headrests Are not the best position and wish they had more of a position than up and down. But really that is it. It’s a beast and I feel Ford has knocked it out of the park. I’m in love and it brings me back to that 6 yr old kid feeling again.
