I was surprised the Bronco restarted itself when I stalled it with the manual transmission while still moving. I was headed up a small incline in crawler- I was shifting into first but missed and hit third. I immediately knew it- so as I was shifting to first the Bronco restarted itself and was running by the time I got into first gear. All seamless.
I wasn't quite sure I believed that happened so I tested it again. Just going around a corner on the street, I purposely put it in fifth and let out the clutch to stall it. As I pushed in the clutch to shift to second, it restarted itself all while moving.
Weird but cool tech.

Safety net! It’s saved me in some precarious situations. Especially when I was first learning to off-road the MT.

Off-subject: Does Sport Mode automatically put you in 4A with the MT? I know it did it with the Auto and drove me nuts.

Yes- Sport mode puts it in 4A with MT. I think the biggest value of sport mode is shift points in the AT. I have not found the value of sport mode with MT yet.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Bronco concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Not a concern. I assume it is functioning as designed.

As designed.

You can also go from a stop without touching the gas pedal, it will raise the RPMS for you.

Value? I drive in sport mode a majority of the time with my MT. Perhaps I value FUN! I’m still averaging 18.5 MPG.

Maybe they don't know? It's not like they built the thing! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
All kidding aside, I think that's a bot auto response.

I rented an Opel diesel station wagon with a manual transmission in France and I stalled it. Quicker than I could say "oh shit" the engine was running again, this was when I learned about this technology. It helped me save face when driving my coworkers around town.

The manual trans is really well thought out. I also like how the cruise control can stay active through a shift.

As designed. The newer Mustangs do it also.

Sport mode does not put my drivetrain into 4A. But... I have the standard 4x4 transfer case, not the advanced one. I'm a desert rat, snow is for other people, I have no use for 4A.

Honestly, that really annoys me. Have to see if that can be disabled somehow. When I tap the clutch, I want it to take it out of cruse. That's what I have done for 20 years.

I used to commute up and down I-17 from Flagstaff to Phx regularly. On those long grades with my VW Passat TDI 6MT I hated having to hit the resume button after each 5-6 or 6-5 shift.

Seems like this would take all the fun out of learning to drive a manual, getting all embarrassed at a red light when you’ve restarted it for the 12th time lol. I ordered the auto but after reading this I would like to drive one now and see how it compares to the old 95 F150 with the 4.9 and Mazda 5 speed haha

Yeah, but if I see a cop, I want to tap the clutch to kill the cruse. Tapping the brakes flashes your brake lights.

Agreed, but there is a cancel or decel button on the steering wheel that can do the same thing.
